..., by darhart on Aug 19, 2015 16:59:19 GMT 1, Thanks for all the offers (plenty way over the asking price!), i've decided it's just easier if I get the COA sorted first and then re-list it.

..., by daveart on Aug 19, 2015 20:23:19 GMT 1, since this is so easy to sell its scary.. i am not going to feel too bad in hijacking the thread with a question.
Why is Pest Control 'busy' there hasnt been a release in like 5 years. there surely cant be more than a few dozen banksy prints changing hands a day. They get paid handsomely for each print. they have made it so you cannot sell a print without their input.. and then they hold you up for months at a time for said input. it cant take more than an hour to authenticate and they get a good price. hire some art interns and get it done. or does someone really know why they are always 'behind' or slow ??

I have some to do, can never be bothered, but know i'll have to get round to it at some stage

..., by Deleted on Aug 19, 2015 21:32:48 GMT 1, Pc insist you courier the prints, unframed using only their preferred courier. You cannot take a print in. It might be that PC is just one person? That must have changed as I took my LR in for verification, pottered round the East End for a couple of hours, and then collected it. Admittedly it was a couple of years ago, but because it was bought at Santa's Ghetto I had no receipt or had its sale recorded, hence having to take it in.

Response times seem to be getting slower and slower. My theory is that he's gradually phasing out the issuance of new PC certs and then it's just a matter time until the verification service stops entirely.
Nothing lasts forever.

..., by daveart on Aug 20, 2015 14:07:50 GMT 1, This works against early buyers of the prints that held on for a long time. not that i bought from source but i bought before the COA's were a big deal. Now even though i dont want to sell i have sent in a few requests .. and nothing.. for many months.. and being in USA and having had some issues with international shipping.. unframing, packaging, and shipping to london, waiting months, packaging and shipping back to USA.. not really worth the risk?! I feel pretty stuck by the whole process... and periodically you see other people say they got COA's in a matter of days.. what is the secret!!?!?

On the other hand, I'm always curious why a person who has a Banksy print without a COA waits so long to get one. I understand if you bought them early on and/or never plan to sell, but I feel like once he got big and PC COAs started becoming important then that would've been the type of thing to sort out sooner than later just for peace of mind. The COAs are also neat with their little Banksy stamp and ripped tenner. Also records get lost; you always hear those disaster stories of real prints not getting verified b/c they were bought at some hole in the wall in 2003.

..., by ToonKiller on Aug 21, 2015 19:29:21 GMT 1, Had to go through the stress of sending a print in for verification last year. PC will put you in touch with Flight Logistics who will take care of you. They'll even send someone to your house to pack up the print for you if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. It takes time though, there isn't really a secret some just get lucky.
