Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by rebelate on Aug 21, 2015 19:31:40 GMT 1, As always Guardians feel free to move if not in the right place...
Hey guys, I'm sure a few of you have already seen or bid on the following two links. I'm posting this on here in order to protect other forum members from wasting their time or losing their money.
I won a Banksy Chocolate Donut from "fineartacquisitions" on June 22nd (expresso beans username "Blazedoubtbee") The item was described as PURE MINT. Immediately after winning the item I send a message to the seller asking for him to double check and verify that the item is "PURE MINT" because well...we've all seen and heard the issues that come up when throwing around the word "mint" around.
We came to the agreement that I would not send payment until he visits the storage unit in NYC that the print is located at and would verify condition and I in turn would send payment once confirmed. I didn't think anything of this since all the conversations seemed on the up and up, he even mentioned he was one of the founders of expresso beans (which later after contacting EB Founder was a total lie).
Shortly after that is when things started to get interesting. Well I got excuse after excuse why it was taking so long, it was only supposed to take 2 days, after multiple requests and delays and stories like he is on tour with the Rolling Stones, ... I get a notification from ebay stating that I've been reported as a "Non-paying purchaser". When contacting him immediately afterwards he said that it was an automated setting that sends that out after a certain amount of days without payment being received and to not to freak out about it, everything is good, peace and love blah blah blah...He also went on to mention that all conversation and agreements within ebay Messaging service will override it and to hold tight for 2 more days since he will have visited his storage by then.
I contacted the ebay representatives which are as useless as a robot, who claimed yes it's true it's an automated service setting and that if the buyer is saying not to worry don't worry he is obviously trying to work with you.
Well two days later he CANCELS the whole deal based on the fact of me not paying. That's when he goes MIA for a week, claims he's on tour in Canada with the Rolling Stones, but also claims to be a lawyer, then he comes back claiming he's moving to LA. All run arounds. I did some research on him on EB and spoke to some members who claim he's a delusional guy who changes his story left and right, has sold dry mounted art, etc etc lets just say the wrap sheet is pretty long. I call him out on his scam (who knows what would have happened or what I would have received if I had paid him, or if anything at all). He claims that the Nola he sold was a successful sale and that everything went great and that he's not a scammer. Then he turns on me and claims that I didn't pay him of course he cancelled the deal and says if I want it to send him the money via paypal now - Not going to happen outside of ebay or without seeing the print. I told him that I would meet him in LA and give him cash for it on the spot - and he back peddled his way out of it again.
Long story short, I write a negative feedback in hopes of helping out others from getting screwed a few weeks ago. Well I just saw he resisted the same item and he somehow got my negative review removed. Oh and the Nola which he sold to such a "happy customer" is now relisted again also.
My Purchased Banksy Chocolate Donut LINK
Banksy Chocolate Donut : New Listing
As far as the NOLAs
"Sold" Nola to a happy customer LINK
Currently Relisted Nola LINK
I had told him I was going to share my experience with the forum members and he said that he would be "happy to go on there and battle me". So I expect him to crawl out of his hole for this. I'm not worried since all the conversations are saved on eBay. I'm just hoping that this will help other forum members who are currently entertaining this joker. This guy is something out of Dismaland beware guys!
P.S. Here are two quotes mentioning "fineartacquisitions" on EB...

Buyers beware of Blazedoubtbee or whatever he calls himself nowadays on eBay selling prints. We had a falling out a few years ago (2010). He just can't keep his lies straight. It's too funny
Selling under the name fineartacquisitions
One of his recent sales. He had it listed previously a member on here bought it and blazed gave him some bs story about oversea(Edit) Shipping. eBay 261570407041 Last edited by ipath2003 on Mon Sep 01, 2014 6:34 pm, edited 1 time in total."

This ebay talk is just ridiculous. This fineartacquisitions jerk never had the courage to fess up in the line, but you can rest assured it is just some lowlife hustling to make a buck."

Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by rebelate on Aug 21, 2015 19:58:55 GMT 1, More info is filtering in from fellow members who have had bad experiences... Seems like he was trying to flip a donut he never owned on ebay... I haven't seen the method of "List it for auction...THEN try and find it?" LOL
He was "unclegrandpa" on our forum.

Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by WOOF on Aug 21, 2015 20:11:23 GMT 1, You should report his auction to EB so they can remove it. He posted "*** relisted due to non payment PURE MINT CONDITION". What a dickbag.

Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by rebelate on Aug 21, 2015 20:18:51 GMT 1, You should report his auction to EB so they can remove it. He posted "*** relisted due to non payment PURE MINT CONDITION". What a dickbag. Honestly as great as ebay is it's a so horribly managed by oversea customer service reps. One of the reps actually told me that he has a huge history of cancelled listings, not sending item, suspensions, etc etc and that this should get him banded for good. Well...His feedback was 84% last week...now it's back at 100%...the guy is a weasel and knows the loop holes.
The only thing I'm going to report him to is the cops at this point if he makes another physical threat towards me via ebay. I've already reported him to "Trust and safety" which is what ebay uses when threats are made against someone.

Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by WOOF on Aug 21, 2015 20:26:14 GMT 1, If you buy only from the artist will be easy to sort out any future problem! I bought a print from Eelus and was lost by the Malta Royal Mail, I did email Eelus and he send me a new print in lest than a week, this will never happen if you buy from ebay or secondary market. That would be helpful if banksy released prints like shepard fairey, but he doesn't, so the point is kind of moot.

I was part of the bidding on those two items a few months back as well. The way he messaged me with his attitude I backed off bidding. Thanks for the real truth!

I do own two unsigned prints and those was bought from PoW about 7 month ago! they still have print for sale. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I'd love to hear more info...

They sometimes offer things for sale. But rarely do they line up with someone's "wanted" list. Kind of a luck of the draw type thing. Regardless back on topic:)

Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by andyroo0312 on Aug 21, 2015 23:16:53 GMT 1, I joined EB in 07-08 and at that time he was a stand up member (apparently) but then by 2011-2012 he started to have various melt downs and has scammed a number of members i actually thought that he was banned from eb by Brendon who is actually the founder/owner of EB. I think he thinks he is this really cool kush smoking rock star but in reality just another tosser. Sorry to hear of your hassle Rebelate. It seems there are a lot of people out there with untreated mental problems. Blaze needs to get help..

Buyers Beware II: Ebay Seller "Fineartacquisitions" , by rebelate on Aug 22, 2015 0:09:24 GMT 1, Thanks for the positive feed back guys. I was concerned that I was going to get mixed responses but I'm glad the forum has matured enough to realize that I'm simply doing this to help out others. It's very frustrating to save up money in order to make a purchase that I've been wanting for a long time, thinking I've purchased it and then getting screwed with for months. It's the worst and don't wish it upon anyone especially when there's big money involved...Hopefully one good deed will spark more as I continue to hunt for a Banksy Donut!
