Donald Trump, by Deleted on May 2, 2019 19:53:24 GMT 1, Yes, so Dave Rubin is a libertarian centrist, which was my point exactly. And yes, Zuckerberg is a liar when he says all of Silicon Valley is extremely left wing, but only his company isn't. Of course his company is. That being said, I'm not going to spend any more time trying to educate you, it's just pointless. You don't want to hear arguments, you don't want to look up sources, you don't want to have a discussion, you just want to go 'oh dear' to me mentioning a libertarian centrist gay man that did an excellent interview with James Damore. Have fun in your bubble. I have watched that interview. its pretty cringe worthy and rather bias but hey you only care about left wing bias I too am done with this. Enjoy your intellectual dark web grifters and watch out for the cultural marxists its only a matter of time now before you are in a gulag (this is sarcasm by the by) Cheers Please tell me you think Dave Rubin is a biased rightwinger so I can have a good laugh.

Donald Trump, by Deleted on May 2, 2019 20:26:10 GMT 1, You’re on a one man far-right tirade today @blanksky . Quite day at the office?! The day and age where a centre-right person gets characterized 'far right', and someone trying to have a civil discussion as 'on a tirade'.
Sometimes I think we should all just vote libertarian and get this whole political stuff over with. People don't want to listen to each other anyway.

I’ve discussed this with you before. You have accused me of being far left in the past. Just today you have referred twice to people here as extreme (!) left when they were saying nothing that warranted it. Perhaps reign in the hyperbole and people will have a sensible discussion with you.

I didn’t read anything that suggested to me that people were expressing “extreme left” views. Your hyperbole undermines what you have to say. Using phrases like plain evil, being on a par with fascism etc. It’s all just so over the top and unnecessary. And your sarcastic comment recently referencing a synagogue was in exceptionally poor taste in my opinion. You aren’t going to change anyone’s mind with these sorts of comments. I know centre right people that I have perfectly pleasant debates with. You might find that you can too if you reign it in a little.

Maybe you can also note that when people try to have a civil dialogue, I'm having a civil dialogue with them. On the other hand, when people are either just trolling or deranged ideologues, I tend to give up and give them taste of their own medicine. Perhaps that's my bad, but my time and attention are limited resources that I'd rather spend having fun or doing something productive.

Donald Trump, by walfredo on May 2, 2019 22:28:45 GMT 1, this is all comical.... you guys can point fingers at each other all you want...its just meant to be a distraction from the agenda of the special interests funding each party and the campaigns....with a ton of help from the news media and their obvious agenda based headlines which seem to ignore the logical of whats actually happening in this country.... of course companies are liberal in their marketing....who wants to limit their potential revenue base....of course companies are behind more free money to the public...because where are they gonna spend it.....
you're on an art site...where thousands of dollars are exchanged for collectables...and you are gonna argue with each other about liberal and conservative views?
why dont you ask yourselves why your parties (both) arent holding the people accountable to contribute to society and provide a return on the investment the nation spends\or gives them for subsidies. the US is entering a phase where all of the subsidies being provided, with more proposed on the campaign trail every day, will essentially be the end of this country without ensuring a return on the investment...spoiler alert: rich people aint gonna be able to foot the bill for those that dont want to work, and its becoming generational in urban cities.....something rarely brought up without the world 'racist' being involved....because of news media branding to what is common sense economics...which is absolutely mind-boggling... btw - considering the success of the news medias delivery of biased views(all)....its gonna be really hard for any of you to change anyones view...especially if they are unwilling to listen to a view not preached by their pre-determined news network.....logic does not exist in political commentary.....

I am not really into banning stuff but this is what you get when you have really powerful corporations running media monopolies.

Very different media system here in the UK. There have been accusations of bias on the part of the bbc, but in reality there is no political slant on the part of any TV station in my opinion (may be different for non terrestrial channels - I don’t know). Very different indeed so far as the written press is concerned. But it’s fairly clear to all what political slant each newspaper has; most obviously with the daily mail/hate. I avoid Facebook like the plague. Reading this thread, I’m glad that I do!

Still don't think it would, as I would suggest that there are more centre left people in the DNC that would list Fox as a credible source, and far left people that would not. Same for the GOP and media like MSNBC.
It definitely wouldn't work in Europe where most countries have much more political parties and coalition-style democracy.
And when you look at polls of which media the public thinks are trustworthy..I remember there are very little that get above the 50% mark when you combine Republicans and Democrats.

Reading this thread, I’m glad that I do! i dont have faceplant or any social media other than an instagram account for soccer and art....but am fully aware of the craziness that goes on there. i am quite amused when i goto the gym and they have 6 tv's on...usually with CNN and MSNBC on...both with the same bombastic headlines, seemingly like they came out of the same editorial room.......on other TVs sits Bloomberg TV and CNBC....you would think they are covering two different planets.
be glad that you dont have shows in the UK like The View...some of the scariest tv i have been forced to watch....hypocritical hollywood 'actresses' spewing out political opinion with not a college political science class amongst all of them combined.
besides shutting down criminal activity on sites...'controlling social media' is almost impossible, but changing the culture on how we base our views is very important.... you really cant help the people that would blindly believe a view point 'xxx is a racist\nazi\sexist\whatever' just like you cant help the person that believes they are helping a Nigerian Prince through email...we can only limit the exposure...unfortunately the main stream media is not helping. i do think having a certification for news sites that are endorsed by political parties would help....meaning, if both parties certify ABC, CBS, etc its a trustworthy site, then another band for outlets only certified by only one party and another for none....its not legally binding to anything, but holds a party accountable to address outlandish stories on supported sites. if such a system was used facebook and all could at least limit their ads and stories to sites supported by both....but this is problematic to the capitalistic side of their business Very different media system here in the UK. Donald Trump, by walfredo on May 3, 2019 1:03:22 GMT 1, besides shutting down criminal activity on sites...'controlling social media' is almost impossible, but changing the culture on how we base our views is very important.... you really cant help the people that would blindly believe a view point 'xxx is a racist\nazi\sexist\whatever' just like you cant help the person that believes they are helping a Nigerian Prince through email...we can only limit the exposure...unfortunately the main stream media is not helping. i do think having a certification for news sites that are endorsed by political parties would help....meaning, if both parties certify ABC, CBS, etc its a trustworthy site, then another band for outlets only certified by only one party and another for none....its not legally binding to anything, but holds a party accountable to address outlandish stories on supported sites. if such a system was used facebook and all could at least limit their ads and stories to sites supported by both....but this is problematic to the capitalistic side of their business This would perhaps work in the US as you have such a defined two party system with only a very small minority of votes for the Green Party or the Libertarian party. Still don't think it would, as I would suggest that there are more centre left people in the DNC that would list Fox as a credible source, and far left people that would not. Same for the GOP and media like MSNBC. It definitely wouldn't work in Europe where most countries have much more political parties and coalition-style democracy. And when you look at polls of which media the public thinks are trustworthy..I remember there are very little that get above the 50% mark when you combine Republicans and Democrats. well there needs to be a separation of opinion and news, which seems to have died with walter cronkite....unfortunately for the tv networks its not entertainment at that point....
i keep going back to the night Trump won....quite late here and i had CNN on, while they were waiting for him to make the speech one of the lead anchors on CNN said 'i dont know what i am going to tell my kids when they wake up in the morning'......a news anchor covering the election....there is no place for that on TV....you keep your views to yourself and report the news...and as for what he should tell his kid 'the nation went to vote and a winner was chosen and there will be a transference of power with no violence'...i kinda knew the media was going full retard at that point...and they did.....

That's pretty spot on. The worst part of it all is that CNN and their friends claim to be 'objective news' that 'brings you the truth'. Just say you are a far left news network that utterly hates Republicans in general and Trump specifically. I'd respect you for being honest. Being lied to is the worst.

I've thought about it a lot, but I don't think I would even vote in the US. I'd lean Republican on economics and immigration but I'd get as**tload of stuff with it that I don't like or support like their stance on gay marriage, religious bullcrap, weed-stuff, criminal justice reform, and I could never vote for the crazy far left inter sectional socialist mess that the Democratic party has become.
It's a true shame your Libertarian Party is such a joke. There's such a large gap in the centre where a new party should be able to get some traction. I really hope that Starbucks guy runs as an independent, or Yang. Might shake things up a bit (and get Trump elected in the process for 4 more years of entertainment from across the pond .

Fox News ran as fair and balanced” through the entire Bush presidency while at the time CNN was very balanced. Yet conservatives seem to forget this simple truth. And while I agree that CNN and company now have swung way left, it is that model that fox created that spawned this entire dichotomy. It’s amazing that even while CNN wasn’t biased and Fox’s greatest shows were Glenn Beck and company, even then your ilk Whined. Too much damn Rush Limbaugh influence in the American Conservative party. Whole bunch of whiners.

I wasn't that interested in politics back then as I was a lot younger, but already leaning pretty conservative, and I remember watching that Fox documentary, Outfoxed I think it was called? And I remember thinking 'lol, Fox news is utterly insane'. And that was the prevailing narrative here in the Netherlands. CNN was seen as pretty much center, Fox as the crazy channel for the far-right people in rural America that would go 'we don't take kindly to strangers 'round here' as you would see in the movies.
You could make that exact same documentary about nearly every major news network now, but then on the left.

Donald Trump, by poofer on May 3, 2019 2:55:38 GMT 1, So you think the people I've talked to in this thread aren't on the far left Bernie/AOC side of things? I didn’t read anything that suggested to me that people were expressing “extreme left” views. Your hyperbole undermines what you have to say. Using phrases like plain evil, being on a par with fascism etc. It’s all just so over the top and unnecessary. And your sarcastic comment recently referencing a synagogue was in exceptionally poor taste in my opinion. You aren’t going to change anyone’s mind with these sorts of comments. I know centre right people that I have perfectly pleasant debates with. You might find that you can too if you reign it in a little. you cant reason with crazy coach... To admit that you use Fox News as a source of information is insanity in itself. I uesed to watch Fox News from time to time just to see the other side of things for perspective, but it is almost unwatchable. Its a propaganda machine spewing fear, hatred and misinformation almost on a daily basis. There are only a few reporters that are even watchable and could qualify as journalists. The rest are BARELY TV personalities. I read most of my news through digital formats of major newspapers. I feel its a lot less biased to one side or the other. The Washington Post, although a more liberal newspaper, is constantly hosting right wing nutjobs in their editorial sections which gives me perspective, but only seems to solidify my stances. Republicans used to be people whom I just have fundamental difference with. But these days, I find it hard to name Republicans who I can even say I respect. They have become a bunch of spinless feckless imbeciles aboard a ship of fools captained by the douche who bears the name of this thread. God help us all...
