Lumiere London Light Festival, by damo on Jan 14, 2016 21:34:03 GMT 1, I'm actually really looking forward to taking the wife around town to see this on Saturday night. I suspect a fair few drinks on our walk round will make each installation look even better than the last, albeit resulting in a head free of any colour by late Sunday morning!

Lumiere London Light Festival, by opi on Jan 15, 2016 0:32:41 GMT 1, For anyone considering doing the bit in London, did a part of the Lumiere trek and put together a google map for the bit I did. More to add if I get to it otherwise the not so great map is available on the website for Lumiere London. This covers the elephant, the Julian Opie and the amazing Le Voyageurs by Cedric Le Borgne (don't forget to look up at St James's square)
www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z9WaZWk7KXkc.kDVm1z96cARs
My favourite bit so far was the Stick men/Key Frames by Groupe LAPS.

Went to Kings Cross on Saturday night and it was like a badly organised football crowd!! Some exhibits in shop windows and could only be seen by enduring a huge crush. Disappointing

Lumiere London Light Festival, by damo on Jan 18, 2016 20:51:43 GMT 1, Kings Cross was a nightmare around 7pm. Very similar to leaving a stadium but with no police, or seemingly stewards, in sight. We found a kid in the crowd separated from his Mum and crying, he must have only been 11. Took us nearly ten minutes to find anyone with a walkie talkie to hand him to/help find his mam. Took the edge off and tbh the pieces were all a bit low key (at Kings X at any rate).
London has such an appetite for cultural events like these (Rememberance poppies at Tower Hill, Gormley on Southbank, etc) but this was worst organised I've ever been to, not sure whether if it was unexpected numbers (literally thousands) but it kinda killed it all round really.
