Nick Walker - Amour Plated, by davievegas on Feb 15, 2016 3:11:32 GMT 1, I love this. On wood too? Wow while I love the quality from prints on wood, I fail to see any wow factor in a $500 inkjet print on wood. The wow comment was about the image. Thought it was obvious. Strong valentines image from him imo. Who are you again? Says ur an artist. What have you accomplished? Id say about as much as I have ballet dancing. If I'm not a good ballet dancer, I do not question how hard or easy the process is. I have NO say. Your comment gives off a sense of hate and disrespect. Nick Walker can take a dump in a bag and put his sig on it and it will be worth more then most. You not liking it because its a inkjet print on wood just makes you look like a salty artist. Lets not forget about how he has been in the game for a loong time and you cant hate on his career. Its one thing to dislike the easy process of the printing choice that was chosen here but this is a lovely valentines image imo. Your input is as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop. Id advise not to single out people's posts just to have your not wanted opinion heard about his printing choice. Kind of common sense.

I wasn't aware that only you were allowed to have an opinion. All I said was that I don't see a wow factor in a $500 print from prints on wood. I never once said anything bad or negative about nick walker or the company, prints on wood, who printed these. I also actually own numerous pieces printed by prints on wood and have had my own work produced by them, so this whole "salty" thing and "hating" on his career is completely made up in your own mind. You have serious anger issues. Go have a drink, chill out and then please explain to me where my attack was on nick walker, the quality of his art or on the company prints on wood... Oh wait, you can't because there was none. I never even said I didn't like the image, because I actually do like it.
I just don't see the justification in the price... but please keep on living in a box and hating on those who have different opinions then you.

Whos attacking you personally? I said who are you? What have you accomplished to make such a smug remark. Its one thing not to like the image. I have strong opinions about plenty artists but i never mock there choices. Come on now. Your sarcastic remark is unwanted.
Especially when you took the time and SINGLED out my response with negative connotations about his print choice with the ink jet comment. We all have opinions but there is no way you can say you said nothing negative about his process.
The process that he chooses is still his choice. $500 for a ink jet print on wood is cheap compared to his other works on wood. You made a comment like his process or whatever means it's beneath you and was taken that way. I should of just ignored it and went on with my night but the comment because I was singled out irritated me.
As I assume it would others if that was a response to there opinion of the him. No hard feelings but you singled out MY opinion and crapped on it with your own. Don't know many people who would appreciate that.

1) I was defending myself from your misguided personal attack on me
2) for the second time, I never once questioned his choice in producing this print. I don't care if it's an inkjet print, stenciled or screened.
As an owner of actual prints on wood produced pieces, I just don't see a wow factory in a $500 price tag on them. I like the size and the image, and nick can sell them for whatever he wants, but that price tag doesn't wow me... I apologize for having an opinion, since you were allowed to have one I assumed I assumed it was ok for others.

It's very easy to not see the true intent of people's responses but from my view that is how I took it. There's no need to drag it on and yes, we all have opinions and it's welcomed to hear them but in this case it came off all sorts of wrong and bitterness or disrespect. After reading your latest comments I see what you meant about the price. It was just not stated when you made the inkjet comment. Anyway, it's sorted and no personal attack was intended. You can probably see my point of view now as I see yours.

I specifically said in my first post, in one sentence, that I'm not wowed by the price so I don't know why it took multiple more posts by me for you to understand what I was trying to say
Regarding the print, as much as I like what prints on wood does (like I said, I own work produced by them from other artists and of my own work), and as nice as the printed pieces look on wood, the quality is just not the same as an inkjet/giclee printed on something like an Epson 9800/9900, on a nice cotton rag paper, which is what a lot of top quality digital art prints are printed on (like prints by Jeremy Geddes or Josh Keyes). The printed image quality of prints on wood is a bit soft which work beautifully on photos but doesn't translate as nicely for fine art... or at least not as nicely as I would want for a $500 print.

Wow. I don't involved in opinions on here like this but wow. WOW. Uncalled for. Geez

Nick Walker - Amour Plated, by tab1 on Feb 15, 2016 10:31:57 GMT 1, Safe to comment ? Art is supposed to bring enjoyment and happiness My personal views artists are far removed from the production process with glicee production and you would want the creativity of the artist not a sterile manufactured feel but saying that most artists do not produce their own screen prints either :-( Makes the artfair stencils look well valued

that being said, 3 of these left.
