Artist Inspiration , by Black Apple Art on Mar 5, 2016 20:36:23 GMT 1, I know sometimes this gets brought up here but it usually has a negative tone in that someone "copied", "stole" or just came too close to something done previously but I think there is a lot to be learned from this study as it has opened my eyes numerous times to other artists and talents who were front runners of some ideas and concepts. There are literally thousands of examples, good and bad and I thought it would be informative and interesting to see a thread dedicated to this. As I mentioned this thread's intent is to educate and inform, even though in some instances it will may just shine a light on a bad rip-off. All and all I think it would be great to see.
I'd like to kick things off with one of the most fascinating instances of possible inspiration I have found, which is from Norwegian artists Per Kleiva who created the pieces below back in 1971. While there may be no connection, I personally found there must have been some inspiration from Kleiva's work and I find it fascinating this similar and clever concept was expressed by an artist back in 1971, obviously towards the end of the Vietnam War, and ironically as history repeats itself, are just as relevant today.
