Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by mocksy on Dec 17, 2007 1:32:07 GMT 1, With the first week over and not much to shout about - week 2 should prove to be what we have all been waiting for, well hopefully
The hugely anticipated 'Banksy' print, work from Paul Insect and maybe a suprise from some other top artists we should see some much needed quality into the ghetto shop.
A lot of f5ing and a bit of luck and we might all be happy come christmas.
Anyway good luck to everyone whatever takes your fancy ;D

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by seidbereit on Dec 17, 2007 1:48:56 GMT 1, first week has been alright IMO. The 3D stuff is wicked, Lucy's stuff is wicked and, although I feel so alone when I say it, so is the Eric the Dog ;D
Prices fairly steep and good stuff as hard to nab as ever.
Still looking for an unwanted UT by 3D but doubt I will ever see one, seems collectors got the majority of the 3Ds. Pah.
Week 2 is going to be excellent. I can feel it.

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by valeha on Dec 17, 2007 1:54:13 GMT 1, I wish I felt the same way - would have saved me a few pence! I understand people have their own opinions and tastes and I respect that but what's been really peeving me off is the assertion that people who bought any of the latest SG releases aren't "educated" about the art scene as they're too new or are flippers.
(not aimed at you mocksy but I've seen this argument pop up a few times on other threads)
Well I don't think I fall into either category. The boyf showed me the wonders of Banksy back in 2003 - posters for ยฃ150 weren't my priority then - as I hadn't caught the bug! (he's never forgiven me for persuading him not to buy flying copper when it was first released) oopsie!
anyhoo I'm pretty chuffed with my Bast and 3D but unfortunately think there's more out there to tempt me.
Does anyone know if there's such a thing as art rehab?
take care V.

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by carl on Dec 17, 2007 1:55:21 GMT 1, I actually really liked Lucy's print. Many have mentioned that it was too basic. Hope that the Paul Insect on display is made into a print. Not sure about the Faile though, feels quite flat. but all good.

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by Gentle Mental on Dec 17, 2007 2:01:46 GMT 1, in terms of sequencing of release, i think it's all quite smart business, generating the hype, getting most things sold out at maximum profit (with high prices), the teasings (even on a SATURDAY!), and probably, from now till x'mas eve, little "extra" surprises to tempt and milk even more money.
I'd wouldn't be too happy if it's not for a good cause. But it is, so I think it's been extremely brilliant!
for once, it's nice to see the tools of sales and marketing strategies being put to use for good! i think more charities can really learn from this.

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by morrissey1 on Dec 17, 2007 2:15:42 GMT 1, someone probably already said this, but besides the banksy print, I would love to see that Paul Insect "Pinocchio" image as a print....that would make a good start to week 2, I think......and like I was saying in a different thread, hopefully POW will start to sell some art done by locals on the SG shop.....what better way to support them than to put them right on the site? people would buy them......and from the pics I've seen, alot of the art done by the locals is looking pretty good.

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by robo on Dec 17, 2007 2:43:10 GMT 1, I thought there was some great stuff last week - I liked the Bast a lot, a couple of the Kelsey Brookes (the first 2 out were poses i preferred), the Lucy Twins (tho i think i actually prefer the simpler black and white over the ones on silver) and, i know its controversial, the Aiko. Wondering what week 2 will hold...
Does anyone know when they are running SG till? I thought there was an end date on the site, but couldn't find it when i last looked.

Week 2 at Santa's Ghetto, by Richard on Dec 17, 2007 3:04:00 GMT 1, Our Father is my favourite print so far - and one of the more reasonably priced ones too IMO. It's also the only one I actually pushed the botton on!
Fingers crossed for a Micallef release and that I am in the right place at the right time for Mr Banksy.
