Expressobeans??? dodgy, legit?, by russkov on May 27, 2016 9:25:13 GMT 1, Made several deals with serious sellers on EB, you can ask for a feedback if the seller/buyer looks dodgy. Less bad surprises there than I had on Ebay.

Expressobeans??? dodgy, legit?, by Happy Shopper on May 27, 2016 10:13:51 GMT 1, I've done a few deals over there. Even straight trades with US members. Super risky! But you have to look at peoples involvement with the forum, and decide whether they're legit or an unknown quantity. . There's a lot of sharks over there though, so be wary. It's flippers paradise, and not quite the same culture as here.

Expressobeans??? dodgy, legit?, by russkov on May 27, 2016 10:43:40 GMT 1, As Happyshopper said! I'd like to add that EB is as much for US tastes that UAA for UK tastes. In terms of atmosphere, you'll find more collectors there, less flippers, but focused mainly on US artists (even if the database is wide), while i"d say here there are more focus on European artists, while I see a lot of flippers. A bit too much.

I think the difference is more that they see reselling as part of the collecting process (only annoying at times), whereas we always call it out as flipping.

Expressobeans??? dodgy, legit?, by londonfx on May 27, 2016 13:30:12 GMT 1, I'm not convinced about the flipping argument. I think the main difference between EB and here. Is that EB tends to be more towards movie based prints. And the UAA is more towards "urban art".
I mainly use EB for its database. It's an easy to use system that catalogues thousands of prints. And is great for fact finding

There are a lot more EB members that are sellers on ebay than UAA. Don't get me wrong there are defiantly flippers on both sites!

Expressobeans??? dodgy, legit?, by soupy on May 27, 2016 14:05:24 GMT 1, i am active on EB. database is great especially for finding prints you may be trying to track down. there is a notification section when something is posted FS/FT or posted on ebay (which can be helpful for hard to find items). the crowd is definitely more varied and US centric. seems like a lot of users are collectors of movie or superhero prints (which i have zero interest) and more concerned about quantity than quality. the vast majority of activity is around $50 weekly print release and less about OGs. there are definitely a lot of EBers that flip anything and everything. i just try to stay in artist threads or topics that i am interested in.
as for buying/selling/trading on there, check members feedback, # of posts, # EB points, activity, etc. i've done a number of straight trades, sales, buying with zero issues. but with anything online... be careful.

Expressobeans??? dodgy, legit?, by wottagunn on Jun 9, 2016 6:58:59 GMT 1, im fairly active there, have it open pretty much all day when im at work. There's a lot of great people there but of course some dodgy ones too. If you're thinking about striking a deal with someone, feel free to PM me their username and ill let you know if they can be trusted or not. No. of posts, feedback and forum activity means a lot over there.

I've been a member of EB since 2014 and have done three deals with other collectors. All were good transactions. That being said, there are some known flippers there and the asking prices on newer more sought after prints can be outright ridiculous at times.
Really like the For Sale thread here a lot better, as other members have a chance to chime in if the asking price is ridiculous.
Often found that EB asking prices on UK pieces are also significantly more than market.
Best to check their feedback on the site and when using PP make sure to pay by Credit Card.
I'm new to UAA and joined for the specific reason that more urban art can be found here.
