Barry McGee - A ghost in the family, by haihai on Jul 4, 2016 21:02:43 GMT 1, Great article from the New Yorker about Barry McGee and his artist wife Margaret Kilgallen. A really touching story. Gives me the chance to connect with the artist more, deeply than just buying a print and tacking it to a wall and consider that i know everything about the artist.

Do you believe that anyone buying an artwork by Kilgallan, McGee, or any other artist for that matter, actually considers that they 'know everything about the artist'?

Barry McGee - A ghost in the family, by haihai on Jul 6, 2016 21:38:51 GMT 1, not everyone but a few do believed that they know everything about an artist. Once they feel like they know everything about an artist, they think the artist owe them something. take banksy for example, people talk like they know everything about the man and they dont even know the man real name.
all i wanted to do with this posting was to share a great story about a great artist and that you should not fall into the trapping of thinking, that you know everthing about the artist, like me! I am wagging the finger at myself and everyone who feel such a way.
