No Commission Swizz Beatz Bronx, by Deleted on Aug 9, 2016 0:58:42 GMT 1, Love the concept he is doing with the no commission fair. Article from Vogue below:
Swizz Beatz “No Commission Art Fair" is Coming to NYC
Major Grammy winning music producer Swizz Beatz continues to kick down the door of the art world and spread his creative wings, opening his 2nd version of No Commission Art Fair in his hometown the Bronx, NY. This summer artists will be allowed to showcase their work for free and take home 100% of their proceeds, a departure from the industry standard. Beatz has said, “I think the world needs more powerful collaborations that are willing to push the envelope and not really follow the necessary rules that are laid out.” Curated by Swizz’s (himself) The Dean Collection, this summer’s artfair will showcase hand selected artists, which continues to highlight his important ‘give back factor’ message. Swizz’s connection to the art world is not new and goes beyond his family’s own Dean Collection as a long-standing member of the Brooklyn Museum board and curator at Art Miami Basel throughout the years.
Looking to expand the artists’ reach for entry into major national and international collections, the debut artists include Raashad Newsome, Kehinde Wiley, SWOONS, Shepard Fairey, KAWS, Dustin Yellin, and more. New Orleans native Rashaad Newsome, known for his performances and dance Vogue mastering King of Arms Art Ball, is on the top hit list for collectors after his recently sold-out show at De Buck Gallery in NYC. Celebrity collectors like Nene Leakes who are loyal fans have been closely following Newsome’s artwork patiently waiting to snap up his latest works, especially after news broke of the purchase by the Studio Museum of Harlem.
Swizz Beatz, a serious collector himself who owns work by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Takashi Murakami, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, is leaving traditional dealers a little frazzled to say the least with his new No Commission platform. Celebrities are coming out in droves to buy and support the artists, such as Lenny Kravitz, Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa and Hannah Bronfman, all high-profile performers who bring immersive experience into both art and performance, which continues to raise the bar for this new generation of art world stars. If this unstoppable Dean family, Beatz, his gorgeous superstar singer wife Alicia Keys and son Egypt have decided to make a splash in New York’s concrete jungle, we can be sure the noise will resonate loudly and create another ingenious success.

the idea is great but the execution falls flat. I am sure as they don't have to give aspect of the money earned to those greedy gallerists these artist will present pieces with prices that are reasonable.
Especially grateful will be all those celebrities. Art is mostly elitist, but packaging it as non elitist while talking about the elite whom will attend. Just lol

I don't think this concept is to tell artists never to sell / market / display through galleries again. It seems that as a well off collector / fan he is choosing not to personally take profits from the artist as well as provide a venue and platform of exposure to some lesser known artists of his choosing to be on display with the likes of Shep and KAWS.
From the 1st "No Commission" "No Commission Art Fair, curated by Grammy Award-winning recording artist and producer Swizz Beatz, provided exhibition space in Wynwood to emerging artists at no cost and with artists keeping 100% of their sales."
Maybe a bit naive but seems like a positive thing to me.
