RALPH STEADMAN DR GONZO B&W, by tulipsar3better on Jan 2, 2017 12:17:03 GMT 1, I really could care less what anyone has to say if it has nothing to do with selling this. yes you guys are all awesome art aficionados and I'm a random outsider only posting to sell... So what.
I never wanted to sell this, I'm sure it's not worth as much as that reference says but I couldn't find another one.
I have a $1200 vet bill to pay for my cat so I can bring him home and after 2 weeks of trying to sell everything I possibly can I tried this as a last resort.
So keep your snarky.... you know what? I don't care... make all the comments you want, but if there is anyone who wants to help me get one step closer to getting my cat home, let me know.... the rest of you?? have a good time flaming the outsider.....

RALPH STEADMAN DR GONZO B&W, by sugar72 on Jan 2, 2017 12:25:13 GMT 1, Would just be nice for people to introduce themselves before they come straight in with a sale. Then everyone knows who they are buying from, it's all part of forum courtesy.

I did it, got the flak and the t shirt, lesson learned Happy New Year.

RALPH STEADMAN DR GONZO B&W, by frankiefrench on Jan 2, 2017 13:11:17 GMT 1, I fail to see how Americans have taken the phrase "couldn't care less" and turned it back to front into "could care less" Surely if you really want to express how little you care for something then you COULDN'T possibly care any less than you do. The British version makes more sense.

RALPH STEADMAN DR GONZO B&W, by smokey on Jan 2, 2017 14:49:32 GMT 1, I'll start out with a positive and say the framing is very nice. I was recently gifted the color version & "couldn't be happier" with it. Yes I hate that frankiefrench as well. Almost as much as "your" instead of "you're", which I've seen on here surprisingly often. That said, I sympathize with your situation seller, but can assure you a pissy attitude isn't helping your cause. I know a tiny fraction of what many in here do but I come here for knowledge, laughs, & the general appreciation of art we all share. I can also say you're far from the only one here in financial difficulties. Some of my favorite people I've met through here can't afford numerous Banksy's but love collecting the pieces we appreciate and can afford. I've dropped more money on this cat sitting on my lap right now than I'll ever know. And I'm grateful for me & him both that my family did. So I can again sympathize. That said, I think you'd be better off taking the attitude and piece to eBay. Many people here would buy it whether they needed it for their collection or not if you'd have simply introduced yourself and your situation from the start. Yes, many are that caring and generous. They're also a small tight knit community of people that appreciate each other's company more than just art buyers/sellers so expect backlash for walking in the door of a stranger's house & not introducing yourself. Not bashing since I personally understand your position but simply explaining the thought process behind the comments. This place will always have people looking to make a quick buck. Most, unlike you, don't have a legitimate reason, aside from financial gain. Still, many on here have grown tired of those types so it's natural to be defensive when a post like yours pops up. Hopefully you'll find a buyer, get your furry friend back, & then stick around for some fun and learning. And happy new year to all.

RALPH STEADMAN DR GONZO B&W, by Poly Mindset on Jan 2, 2017 19:46:04 GMT 1, I do sympathize with your situation as well as many on this forum I'm sure. However, when posting something for sale on this forum it is always good to have a good reference for comparison. You've stated in your post that the piece you are trying to sell is 11 x 9.25 ( I'm guessing inches) yet your comparison that is listed at $1500 is 11 x 16 inches which is a completely different piece. In essence, it's apple to oranges. I'm not sure about the B&W version but the color version which was released in that size retailed for only 50 gbp though it sold out it is an unlimited edition. Additionally, you've not stated if there is any documentation(COA) that comes with the piece. I understand your frustration at the flak you have received from forum members but my suggestion is to do a little more research on the piece, introduce yourself as has been suggested, and re-post this properly with more info. One of the problems with reselling a Steadman piece is that he is so prolific which means there may be some fakes out there (just look on Ebay). I am finding it harder spend my money on a piece of art unless it's completely documented and I know for sure it's authentic. I do sincerely wish you good luck with your situation and your sale.
