Hanging Framed Expensive Art, by nobokov on Mar 3, 2017 5:21:12 GMT 1, I purchased a print last year and it's been hanging in the living room ever since. The value has gone up considerably since and so has my anxiety about whether I'm hanging it in the best place to avoid damage over time. Originally it was on a wall opposite an outer wall. The temperature of the wall fluctuates dramatically throughout the day and recently the adjacent window even had a leak. So, I moved it.
Now I'm wondering if the heating vent which is above it will present problems as the frame feels warm to the touch each time the heater turns on.
Do the rest of you think about this stuff and if so, what's the best way to display valuable art considering all of the environmental factors? Thanks

Hanging Framed Expensive Art, by Aza on Mar 3, 2017 7:41:52 GMT 1, Hang it in a dark room no one ever enters, or under the bed.
Seriously though, at my house I have run out of wall space, so they just go where they can, I don't have the luxury to be choosy. If I did they would be out of direct sunlight and not above a radiator. My best pieces are not above a radiator but they are in direct sunlight, albeit north facing. But then that's why I use the fancy glass and have them float mounted.
