Who's puts the most love in to editions., by Quinnster on Jul 27, 2017 19:09:50 GMT 1, I was looking at some framed Banksys and thinking how dull they are compared to other prints. No hand finishing and not much love in the printing process.
So who puts the most love in to there editions.
The three I thought of first were
1 Bast 2 Faile 3 Phlegm
Let me know your top 3....

A lot of his prints feel like originals with all the individual work that goes into each one.
On some of them only the primary color is screened and the rest hand done I think

Seriously though. Pejac has to be up there. Xenz too

I've just received a hand painted In Forest Wilds and I have to say it's amazing. Definitely got to be up there with the best for hand finishing. One of those prints that looks so much better in the flesh than in any photograph.

Who's puts the most love in to editions., by Deleted on Jul 29, 2017 17:42:38 GMT 1, Depends what you mean on love. If you are including effort Some Artists pay a studio to print for them. Others do it themselves. If I was paying others to print for me and money wasn't an object I would create more elaborate designs and incorporate different methods. As it is for me to create a print it's a lot of effort, time and hard work even for a basic print. Aside from coming up with the idea (the hard part), putting it together as layers ready to get positives printed. I work full time so for me I have to book 3 hours in a studio in the evening. Drive an hour there and back to to the studio, and during that 3 hours I might get to prepare 2 screens. I then book another 3 hour slot the following week and get to prepare more screens or maybe start printing. Might get 1 of 2 layers printed if all goes well. 3rd visit I hopefully have a finished edition. If experimenting with ideas/inks you can add another visit. I might be a nobody but I certainly put the love in. Especially as the print doesn't sell out and I print another! Plenty of stock on my site :-(
When you are successful you just email some files to a studio and they do it all for you. Some like to be there when it's done, others like to just wait for a cheque from their gallery.

I'm talking about not just screen printing, adding paint spray paint, tea stains, coffee stains, making every print in the edition unique like Basts POW Mickeys, or adding a drawing like Phlegms fight of flight.

Who's puts the most love in to editions., by mojo on Jul 30, 2017 0:18:21 GMT 1, Paul Insect 'Demios your Guiding Light' is by far the best quality print I've purchased in over 15 years. You don't get detail and colour that vivid without a hell of a lot of love and skilz.
Cauty also deserves a mention, The Aftermath Dislocation Principle/ADP model village is an absolute labour of love and has taken years to create. Each of the tiny police figures takes at least a couple of hours each to decapitate, paint and re-head ....and there's 1000's of them!
And then there's STIK... anyone that can raise ยฃ50K for their local hospital through selling some of their prints is definitely putting in the love.
