TIPS TO MAKE YOUR 'FOR SALE' THREAD BETTER
1. An introduction
A brief summary of what you are selling (not everybody can see the title subheading on their mobile phones and it's a nice clean way to start your post).
2. Pictures
This is super important.
It not only proves you have the item, but it will also reinforce the item's condition and current state.
Examples of good pictures to include:
-A picture of the overall work
-Pictures of the corners of the artwork.
-A picture of the verso (back) of the artwork - if possible.
-Pictures of any flaws or damage.
-If framed - detailed pictures of the framing.
Detailed information / Artwork summary:
This is really important. It gives all the important information that a buyer would need to know when purchasing your work.
It will also not only vastly increase your chances of successfully selling your art work but will also save you a lot of time that would have been spent responding to messages asking for the information you failed to include.
This is the important information:
Artist: (Who is the artist?) Title: (What is the artwork called?) Edition: (What is the edition -Regular, AP, PP etc and also the edition size e.g. XX of 50) Framing: (Is it framed? What are the framing specs? What glass was used?) Framer: (Who framed the artwork? e.g. Darbyshires, John Jones, Mr Frame Man, your mate Dave). Condition: (How would you rate the over all condition of the print? e.g. Mint, Excellent, Good - be honest and descriptive e.g. Good with surface abrasion to the back from previous framing (see pics) or Mint -Stored flat since purchase). Location: (where are you and the print located) Price: (How much do you want for the print? Are you willing to accept offers or is this price firm? If trading, what are you looking to trade for the artwork?)
Any final closing comments:
e.g. I am looking for this deal to be concluded quickly as I am travelling next week or I will be in xxx area on this date so can meet face to face).
It's really not hard. If you want to sell your stuff here rather than paying Ebay fees, then please take the time to post your for sale thread properly.
It not only makes the community better, but also gives you a higher chance of success.
