Art/photobooks?, by ccoward on Aug 31, 2017 21:07:14 GMT 1, I'm in the business for some new books. I have a fair stack already but there's always room for expansion and more sources to draw inspiration from my artworks.
I have a whole bunch of photobooks already. Artist books from Gwen John, Norman Rockwell, Durer and DaVinci books as well as a few general urban/street art books. I thought this would be a good forum to post into to get some advice on which ones to check out based on the artist examples I've given!
Thanks in advance!

Art/photobooks?, by gd79 on Aug 31, 2017 21:23:33 GMT 1, Try a Japanese publisher "Goliga". Lovely guy, he publishes really innovative stuff. Mainly (perhaps entirely) photography, but always original. i find myself buying a lot of what he releases, most recently a glass book

Art/photobooks?, by mose on Sept 1, 2017 0:49:25 GMT 1, I'm not huge on photobooks, but that's largely because once you go down that route you can easily bankrupt yourself. There are many fantastic ones in-print, many rare and wonderful OOP editions, and the whole world of Japanese photobooks which is just magical.
Some I do have that would probably be welcome on most any shelf:
Alec Soth - Sleeping by the Mississippi(there's a new edition just published) Kazuyoshi Usui - Showa 88 and Showa 92 Christian Patterson - Redheaded Peckerwood Broomberg & Chanarin - Holy Bible(and the holy grail that is War Primer 2, there is a free digital version on the Mack Books website) Masahisa Fukase - Ravens Larry Clark - Tulsa Robert Frank - The Americans Daisuke Yokota - almost anything by him. He's wild. anything William Eggleston. anything Gregory Crewdson(love his work)
