Advice on Trading Prints, by Dive Jedi on Sept 12, 2017 20:45:39 GMT 1, Hi folks,
can anyone give some advice on trading prints, please?
I am in the process of trading a print. Since I am in Netherlands and he is in Norway we both need to send our stuff. Of course we both have no idea how trustworthy the other party is, so this creates a challenge.
What would you recommend?
My idea was to use PayPal. I can send him a payment and he sends me the print.
This way he is sure he gets paid. After receiving my print he sends m e the same amount and I send him mine. If we do not receive the print for any reason we can make a claim in PayPal and they will refund us.
Only downside is that PayPal takes 4%, so it will cost us both 4% of the print value for this.
Any ideas / experiences on this?
Cheers, Jedi

Advice on Trading Prints, by NYart on Sept 12, 2017 20:58:36 GMT 1, The PayPal method is really the only 100% safe option, besides having galleries in each of your towns act as middlemen. Which may be a less expensive option if 4% of the prints is a large amount.

I think I will just go for it. Just a bit cautious after RRR-gate.
Now just figure out how to avoid import tax.

Advice on Trading Prints, by sugar72 on Sept 13, 2017 11:56:26 GMT 1, Everyone is so loathed to pay a commission to an official 3rd party in order to save a few pounds.
The danger is ending up in a situation like rrr and regretting.
It's like people who don't pay holiday insurance to save a few pounds and then regret it when it comes to the crunch.
Don't hate the middle man, they are there for a purpose and as a business.
