Framing Books, by Inknart on Apr 5, 2018 16:11:05 GMT 1, Why would you want to frame a book? I have framed book, books in plexi cases, books with drawings that act as originals in my opinion.
Have a couple ron english ones framed where he did a full sketch, have a kaws book that is signed and drawn on that sits in a plexi case displayed with companions, have the dface screen printed book framed , acrylic book stands look great as well, I keep a couple art books displayed and rotate them out monthly as it's a nice change in scenery and color.
There is a current show where framed books are prevelant, and Dfaces last show had a ton of framed books for some ideas.

Framing Books, by sufsean on Apr 5, 2018 16:11:39 GMT 1, Why would you want to frame a book? Two fold---1) alot of times books are hand finished/ works of art and would want to display it more prominently and 2) don't want kiddos or other slimy paws on my awesome art work.

Sure, here are a couple of them. They're great novelty displays. Keep the KAWS one with book from a show , show card, and a signature I got from him in 2014 above my desk.

Framing Books, by kfroms on Apr 6, 2018 14:00:12 GMT 1, I wanted to have the Andy Warhol 'Stockholm Catalogue' framed and it took me a bit to find a framer who came up with a solution which didn't ruin the book ( which is quite thick and heavy )
Below some pictures ( sorry for the quality ) - the mat supports the book and a threat stops the pages from opening.

That book is heavy, have been close to buying it myself a couple of times.
My cardboard cover for my Faile Print & Originals book was much lighter. Had that one framed similar in a box frame. Instructed my framer to simple attach a small sheet of acid free paper around the back of the box before he closed it and then attached the acid free paper with acid free tape onto the frame. Do you follow?

Framing Books, by The True Cubs Fan on Apr 10, 2018 20:08:30 GMT 1, I've used shadow boxes before. Don't have a picture off hand, but often you can find them on sale. I then got small L brackets from a hardware store, and drilled them into the backing of the shadow box, two on the bottom.
Then I took a piece of acid free paper and cut 2 long strips, and taped them together around the back cover. Then that strip got taped to the back of the shadow box just to prevent the book from tipping over. I know it's a bit convoluted so I included some pictures. It was just a cheaper way for me to frame a book, I think I did the entire thing for $50
This is the back of the book, and this is the piece of paper I taped to the back of the shadow box.
Hope this makes sense!
