Is there a link between Marilyn Monroe and your use of €0.01 coins?
I wasn't able to work out a connection myself, especially given the separate chronology between the American actress's lifetime and the introduction of the euro as a European currency.

"Coined Marilyn" Edition of 10. More images inside., by moron on Jul 25, 2018 18:33:45 GMT 1, I get the centime united states of europe connection.
I do feel that it could have worked better if the background consisted of centimes or cents and the visage of Marilyn Monroe was stencilled or screen printed on top of the centimes or coins.

"Coined Marilyn" Edition of 10. More images inside., by raulegido on Jul 29, 2018 3:41:12 GMT 1, Feel free to create that version, i wanted to create a piece that wasn´t a stencil and played directly with the circular shape of the coins.

"Coined Marilyn" Edition of 10. More images inside., by Con Art Studio on Jul 29, 2018 4:25:11 GMT 1, Feel free to create that version, i wanted to create a piece that wasn´t a stencil and played directly with the circular shape of the coins. out of curiosity, how is it playing “directly” with the circle shape of the coins? You’re using the coins to form one solid block of color and the shape of the coins has no affect on that, especially the further you get from the image. I just don’t see what the shape of the coins has to do with the final image.

I just don’t see what the shape of the coins has to do with the final image. If you use for example square shaped objects the effect is different. Maybe not for you but i can see clearly the difference. If you put the piece right in front of you you wouldn´t see the difference between circles and solid lines made with a stencil? It is a totally different look. if you make a simple stencil that goes around the borders of the shape it will have a different feel. from far away it´s a different story.
