Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by brycepen on Jul 18, 2018 10:03:37 GMT 1, Can we just agree that Erdogan is a monster and also that congregating around a balloon figure of the US President as a baby is an immature and fruitless form of protest?
What does attending a protest actually accomplish? It’s certainly not as poignant as making a serious piece of art which also translates to journalism with its message.
However, I respect anyone’s right to express dissent, and I don’t think you can invalidate someone’s choice to actively protest the leader of one country’s policy because they fail to protest against other, worse rulers. Give me a break.
It’s nice to have healthy debates with varying opinions; that is what forums are for right? It’s not a pissing contest; it’s an exchange of opinions

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by Icesay on Jul 18, 2018 19:48:31 GMT 1, Quite right. It is interesting that's it takes a 'personality' to make people sit up and take notice of an issue. I do wonder why Banksy has chosen any particular cause and why he/they have chosen this theme. I also wonder why it is so important given myriad of global issues. Dies team Banksy have a reason to highlight this particular cause? I guess generally its anti oppression and anti conflict. Freedom of speech doesn't really matter if no-one is listening. I don't know enough about it. I guess if I had experienced the reality I wouldn't be asking these questions.

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by moron on Jul 20, 2018 14:03:31 GMT 1, Why on earth would I support cultural values that class me as an animal or second class and to be lied to and taxed because of who I am. A european who believes in equality and democracy. Sorry but the rally with Linda Sarsour etc was about promoting sharia and basically using muslims purely as a pawn in a point scoring game against Trump. The sooner that people wake up and realise that the democrats who are white mainly are conning ethnic minorities and manipulating them not to integrate the better. The worst thing for the democrats would be if everyone had the same values and got along with each other. Where someone comes from makes no difference, the difference is about integrating and adopting western values and contributing. Not refusing to integrate and create ghettos which means future generates are prevented from integrating and sharing in democracy and having a better life. Multi culturalism is impossible in a democracy simply because cultures evolved from cults and all democracies have to be secular and not pander to or ignore people because of where they came from. So who is the racist. The person who integrates or the person who refuses to integrate? It's not hard. Your comments on this thread - particularly your comments about Islamic culture, refugees/immigrants and integration - show that you don't believe in equality - you don't even seem to understand what it means. Multiculturalism is possible in a democracy, pandering or ignoring are not the only options, acceptance and treating others as equals no matter where they come from or what religion they follow is another option which makes it possible. Neither integrating, or not integrating, necessarily mean that someone is racist. However telling refugees/immigrants that to integrate they need to adopt 'western values' and 'culture' in a way that would suggest 'western culture' and 'values' are superior does make someone racist. Learn to read.
Many migrants from many countries who move to europe support the values of the country, democracy and equality for all.
Many who migrate to european countries expect to set up a state within a state and refuse to integrate whilst collecting social security.
My comments about Islamist culture are based on the mysoginy and racism pracaticed by islamists to non islamists.
There again for you libtards it's based on some old religious book and because it's a religion it mans it's allowable.
To be honest I have met a lot of religious people of different religions including islam and none of the people I have met practice what they preach, all religious people are hypocrits thats' why I do not belive in pandering to religions of any type.
All the men I have met who told me they are muslim drink alcohol. They don't eat pork but whenever i have seen them with an alcoholic drink they just shrug their shoulders and smile.
Yes, deliberately refusing to integrate is racist.

It's interesting that big nose Khan the London mayor who cannot speak English properly decided to appoint himself as modesty police banning adverts on the London underground depicting a normal healthy woman in a bikini which was advertising health food. Khan said it was about body shaming. I for one say that Khans a liar and was pandering to sharia culture and his voters in London.
At the same time he is happy to support a giantt obese figure of an adult male wearing a babies nappy or diaper and have that floating over London. He said nothing about how the giant floating Trump baby would be offensive to obese people.

It's worth supporting and considering Turkey wants to be part of the EU too.
I wonder if Lazarides would support Zehra Dogan too?

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by moron on Jul 23, 2018 17:13:05 GMT 1, 'big nose Khan the London mayor who cannot speak English properly' thanks for that Moron I think its fairly clear how racist and childish you actually are from that little nugget. In reality it shows how little you know and how biased you are.
There is nothing in my post that is racist.
“London is debased. The Mayor of London tells us about ‘Neighborhood policin’ — what is ‘policin’? He tells us London is an ‘amazin’ city. What is ‘amazin’? This is the Mayor of London! And he cannot talk properly!”
www.politico.eu/article/morrissey-sadiq-khan-cannot-talk-properly/
It might be derogatory and if I had posted big nose Katie Hopkins or someone else, I doubt you would be defending her.
All politicians are fair game, hence why we see so many political cartoons which exaggerate their mannerisms and facial features.
For racism, it was Sadiq Khan who called people "Uncle Toms" during an interview for Iranien Press TV.
"Sadiq Khan under fire after footage emerges of him using derogatory term to describe fellow Muslims
Footage from an interview in 2009 shows him referring to some Muslims as 'Uncle Toms'"
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/sadiq-khan-under-fire-after-footage-emerges-of-him-using-derogatory-term-to-describe-fellow-muslims-a7012286.html
It was Sadiq Khan who shared a platform with extremists and supports mysoginy.
Sadiq Khan shared platform with five Islamic extremists
EXCLUSIVE: women were told to use a separate entrance at the meeting which the mayoral hopeful attended
www.standard.co.uk/news/mayor/sadiq-khan-shared-platform-with-five-islamic-extremists-a3231436.html
It's also Sadiq Khan who welcomed Erdogans visit to London and stated that Turkey should be allowed to join the EU.
Funny how when Khan shares a platform with extremists or regarding Erdogan in London he makes excuses under the guise of not interfering legally or criticising them publicly, yet regarding Trump he was happy to support and promote the anti Trump rhetoric and the Trump in nappies fat shaming effigy of TRump as a balloon for all to see.
I doubt that Khan would allow protestors in London for example if they were to protest a hate preacher from creating a large balloon of a hate preacher and float it over London.
Khan appears to have quite a lot in common with Erdogan.
Just like that, Khan as Mayor of London says let Turkey join the EU, with nothing to say publicly about Erdogans record on human rights.

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by moron on Jul 23, 2018 17:56:12 GMT 1, What the absolute f**kis this guy still doing on this forum? Nothing but hate and negative comments. Daniel Silk And he makes fun of Banksy too! and who might Banksy be?
I might have made remarks about there being a lot of money and promotion behind the banksy brand.
That Banksy is sold to people as some lone individual with holes in his shoes who goes out at night putting up stencils on walls when in reality it's nothing more than a business plan and a celebrity clique with media contacts.

You're not THAT stupid are you? Shame you cannot prove that what I posted is untrue.
Try to use some critical thinking when you're reading these articles. They're opinions that just back up your own, but there's no "truth" to prove anything one way or the other.

So Sadiq Khan sharing platforms with extremists and calling ethnic minorities "uncle Toms" did not happen?
Try to face reality rather than ignore it.

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by daveart on Jul 23, 2018 19:46:29 GMT 1, Ah hell. three pages of barf and still cant find the actual letter.. FFS. You all will not solve any international problems here ... be civil .. save your political science thesis paper for your family and friends at the holidays.. i am sure they are just all tingly with anticipation to hear your every opinion.
quick thought : NEVER HAS IT HAPPENED that someone changed their mind on a complex topic because someone over talked them in a conversation, called them names, and told them they were wrong.

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by daveart on Jul 24, 2018 13:50:28 GMT 1, I think you may be right Daveart, but it has been pointed out before this is known as the Banksy forum, it is very strange that we have Trump supporters here at all. And very surprising they go to so much effort to find articles and copy links etc...still maybe some people have a lot of free time.
I dont know, that's a little harsh for me .. around 63,000,000 people voted for Trump. (and without trump the world would be more focused on that brexit vote eh?) so, I am not going to spend time being angry at all 63mm of them and certainly don't think it invalidates them from enjoying viewing and enjoying art and participating in the forum. if anything, i hope they come here and see some diversity of thought and images etc.
Hey, i know trump is fun to bang on - he brings it on himself - but also agree there is a lot of chaos in the world so as an American the drum pounding does drag on a bit at times - but i understand the situation.

Letter from Zehra Dogan - Banksy Instagram post, by Bill Hicks on Feb 25, 2019 9:31:23 GMT 1, Turkey conditionally freed Kurdish writer and artist Zehra Dogan on Sunday after more than two years in jail for “terrorist propaganda”, her employer said.
Dogan’s case has won the public backing of street artist Banksy since she was sentenced to almost three years in 2017 for her tableau in the mainly Kurdish southeastern town of Nusaybin depicting ravages by state security forces.
The city has been the site of clashes between the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), blacklisted as a terror group by Ankara and its Western allies, and the Turkish military.
Dogan’s release was reported by feminist, pro-Kurdish news agency Jinnews, for whom she worked prior to detention.
“I shall continue to do my work,” she insisted in a video posted to social media for Jinnews, which Ankara has several times tried to close down.
