The Frame, by rjf76 on Jan 6, 2019 10:00:51 GMT 1, Let’s not mix art with tv ha ha - my main problem with these screens are that a tv should be hung at central eye level when seated - not high up on a wall (unless you stand to watch tv )
Just my opinion - op’s blends in prettty seamlessly!

I’m with you in this. Most wall mounted TVs are placed too high so the viewer has to constantly ‘look up’. I got an ear full when I positioned our TV at eye level. Apparently it’s not aesthetic. It is however perfect for watching the box and playing PS4. Which means it’s staying there!!!

The Frame, by jbelleit on Jan 6, 2019 17:05:21 GMT 1, Thanks for all the nice compliments!!! Yes...the issue of TV's being mounted too high is an issue I am looking into right now. It's not too high...but would it be nicer a tad lower? Will update on this as it goes forward.
And one thing to note for those who said they don't have room for a tv bc of Art....that's the thing with this: when researching buying his tv, I came across an article that opened my eyes. Museums such as the Met, Getty, MOMA and the (US) National Gallery of Art have over a million (total) high resolution or ultra high resolution paintings in digital format for FREE (open source). So now I get to put that beautiful Renoir or Picasso or Whistler (one of my personal fav's) on my wall at any time. And the tv allows you to change up the matting.
It isn't perfect, but it is a nice leap forward to have a tv completely flat mounted against my wall like a print frame...and to display art on it like a framer would.

The Frame, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 6, 2019 18:31:31 GMT 1, I think the idea of moving away from massive lumps of featureless black plastic rectangles is a positive, and this TV looks smart.
My setup is a fairly modest sized TV and when I want to watch a film of something with some drama, action etc, I plug in my projector, chrome cast and speakers and voila.
When I'm done it disappears back into the cupboards.
I personally can't see the appeal of seeing most programmes in 4k on a huge screen.

The Frame, by jbelleit on Jan 8, 2019 15:07:28 GMT 1, I did actually lower the tv 8" to make it easier/better to watch. I'll have to place a couple of smaller prints above the tv to make it blend better. But the frame and "prints" look awesome on the tv. Been keeping some Van Gogh's and Whistler's on there when I am reading and not watching the tube.

The Frame, by treweman on Jan 8, 2019 17:23:59 GMT 1, Agree with all about screen height. But might add that I hate TVs over fireplaces. Not only are they too high, but if you actually use the fireplace, the light (often flickering) from the flames interferes with viewing. I might add that a well built fire (on a gloomy, cold winter day with a tumbler of scotch at one’s elbow) is a thing of supreme beauty, and no electronic devices should be within sight of it. Just my opinion.
