Jonas Wood • Speaker Still Life Print, by cest on Apr 18, 2019 17:31:40 GMT 1, Are people actually netting that? Now that I think about it, I don't think I've seen one net 18k gpb? Regardless I can't even get a response from these guys. I emailed them immediately when the last drop happened, this one I was a little late but I never even seem to get a gfy note. They also have math bass which I wouldn't mind having something of hers Cirrus has been around from the 1960s. They have an enormous volume of clients who have not just come in to try and cherry pick Jonas, but have supported their program for extended periods of time. They probably value those long standing relationships more than people just coming in trying to get in at the ground floor on Jonas. I can't imagine the thousands of inquiries they must get for Jonas these days. The Cirrus prints are the best ones. They're human beings and maybe your inquiry slips by them. Why not alter your strategy and approach them to by non-Jonas material for a while. Like a year or more. Get on their good side and then position for a Jonas after you buy in-depth/volume Math Bass and Baldessari and Ruscha and Bradford etc? They can afford to be selective with who gets these. Good to demonstrate interest in what they're doing elsewhere for a while first.... Just a thought. Good luck. I got mine and I love it.
I have been trying to buy Math from them, per one of my posts on this. Ive also tried several times to buy from thier weekly gallery drops with no success. Either math (or ed ruscha images) gets sold out or (im the case of Math) what i want is part of a larger set that im not interested in. Appreciate the help and thought!

I have given them a lot of business and they have always been super courteous to me. Keep your chin up. You will have an opportunity. Math Bass is going places, too.

Jonas Wood • Speaker Still Life Print, by 19818914 on Apr 18, 2019 21:43:56 GMT 1, I'd say he's just a collector who is focused on investment art. It's more about ownership, really. If I buy something, it's mine. My purpose for buying isn't really relevant to anyone. I can hang it or store it and keep it unframed for later. For investment, for joy, or whatever... It's better that we focus more on our own reasons for collecting than to get caught up in why someone else buys something.
Shut the fuck up. I don’t have a problem with the way you collect.

You were off the mark so I lassoed you back in a little because you don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. How about you go outside and ride your bike for a while, little lord Fauntleroy. The adults are talking right now.

Jonas Wood • Speaker Still Life Print, by coller on Apr 18, 2019 23:08:02 GMT 1, i think it's fair to assume that someone who keeps all of his jonas wood prints in a drawer maybe isn't in it purely for the art (unless of course their walls are full with other jonas wood stuff).
that said, i don't agree with name-calling by any/all parties involved. i also agree that people are free to do what they want, but this does seem like a forum where its users prefer that people display their art rather than keep it in a drawer/closet.

Jonas Wood • Speaker Still Life Print, by Coach on Apr 19, 2019 1:13:00 GMT 1, Are people enjoying constantly having a pop at each other on here these days? Is this what this forum is about now? Might be good if we collectively tried to get back to talking about art and culture, telling each other about shows, new artists etc, maybe?

I apologize if anyone took it differently than me flirting with my sugar daddy.

Jonas Wood • Speaker Still Life Print, by 19818914 on Apr 19, 2019 19:33:56 GMT 1, I prefer your original response. It was genuine and spontaneous- like a diehard collector. But far too condensed. I prefer the unabridged version.
You communicated something altogether different in your edit. You went from “Hmm... how about you shut the fuck up?” to a insincere and calculated response where you act as if you’re a mature adult.
My response about you being an investment minded collector was not meant as an insult. I was simply offering an alternative perspective to those who were calling you a troll. But YOU decided to lash out at me for DARING to come to your defense with incorrect information.
That’s my mistake, and I apologize for that. But please don’t pretend to be an adult- when really- you’re just a disappointing old man.

I don’t know . Maybe an impression of déjà vu. But I reckon that I don’t know the artist ( I will have a look, I promise. And I’ve been quick this morning in my judgment, apologies for the fans ) just the last poster with the shelves ( I won’t say to what it makes me think, i have enough ennemies, but I really did not like it ) , and this print here, too many expensive. Well it’s floral, decorative, no characters .. But maybe in real it’s better. Stik ? Nothing to see. Stik paints on walls, and I do like the simplicity and the roundness of the line. colors, more hot. Jonas is a bit cold and naive ( when I said childish, not the world sorry, I mean not the art itself, but it makes me think to illustrations for children books ) . Anyway I had never heard about this artist apart here, few weeks ago.

+1, in particular not a big fan of the Vote print. And now his prints are well above my budget anyway.

Beautiful print. Maybe it’s just my eyes - at the lower right corner of the image of the speaker it looks like it has a smudge? Can you post another image?

It looks to me like a shadow of the phone they’re using to take the photo, unless you’re talking about something different. You can see the shadow of the phone, the top-left of which overlaps the bottom-right of the speaker.

I see what you mean. But there’s also a white dotted area on the speaker on the right bottom corner of the last image. Looks like a smudge?!

Beautiful print. Maybe it’s just my eyes - at the lower right corner of the image of the speaker it looks like it has a smudge? Can you post another image? Not going to post images all day. Plenty here. If you look at Jonas’ IG post and zoom in, the bottom right corner of the speaker is exactly as I’ve pictured it in mine. All my Jonas prints are pristine and haven’t been framed. Condition issues aren’t even a talking point with what I have.. It’s a tremendous print. His best.
