This seems a bit unnecessary.
Some would say that the art that you’re selling today is far more likely to be found in a nursery.
I like this piece - best of luck with the sale.

C’mon mate. This is someone’s sale thread. No need for comments such as these (I mention it as they are becoming more common these days, for a reason that escapes me). And the my 3 year old or grannie could have done it argument is bunkum as I expect you know.

Some would say the same about Basquiat, Picasso and many more. But if it was misunderstanding, fair enough, my friend.

Humour is now banned on the forum divejedi, it’s one of the new rules. You have been warned

It's not a case of "my 3 year old could have done it". It's that it looks like something a 3 year old would do, an important but subtle difference.

It’s been the normal etiquette of this forum, for many years, that we don’t rubbish other members’ sale threads, save where the seller is acting nefariously (selling fakes, something that’s still available at source etc). If one doesn’t like an artist, that’s usually reserved for threads about that artist, not sale threads. Now, if that’s not how members want the forum to be anymore, so be it.

Jana Schröder work on paper for sale , by Icesay on Aug 3, 2019 23:12:39 GMT 1, I did think what is this? Who is the artist? So I googled it. Perhaps engaging the brain before the mouth is a good idea sometimes. Having said that I'm sure we've all made mistakes.

I get it and it makes sense. But a little light humour never hurt anyone and unsuprisingly (on this urban art forum) this particular artist doesn't have a thread and has never even been mentioned before.
The conversation in a sales thread does keep the thread at the top so will get more seen by more potential buyers too. So I don't know, there are pros and cons to it i suppose.

Jana Schröder work on paper for sale , by Masong on Aug 3, 2019 23:50:51 GMT 1, If a potential buyer gets put off by someone else not liking it on a forum, I would say it probably wasn’t for them in the first place. I’m pretty sure that at some point most of us have heard “I’m not sure about that” or “what is it” or the classic “ does it have to go there or can we find another place for it”.ie out of sight

I don't think you do 'get it', I'm afraid.
Do you expect a community with a relatively narrow number of artists discussed in the grand scheme of things, to have heard of this, or every other artist? There's a whole big world out there.
Do you think keeping the thread at the top, for all the wrong reasons, will attract positive reception of this work?
There's humour and there's ripping to shreds a sales thread, for no legitimate reason, other than attention-seeking.

I don't think you get it. My insinuation is that this artist doesn't exactly fit into the category of urban art. I imagine I'd get a similar reception trying to sell an expensive pair of ugly flip flops on a sneaker forum.
No discussion would put me off buying a piece I wanted. Anyway, it's ok to have different opinions. Surely that's what a forum is for.

It's quite telling that your point of reference is 'sneakers'. Tells everyone all there is to know about you.
I think the argument is lost on you.
But this is hardly an 'urban' art forum when you check for sale threads and the sub threads.
Kaws, harland Miller, Jonas Wood, ai Weiwei, josh sperling, David Shrigley, grayson Perry, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Julian opie etc

Well then maybe they should rename it. Until then I'll just post where I want when I want. Cheers.
