BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on Mar 7, 2020 17:02:20 GMT 1, Would you frame it like the show, or black on black.. I’d think I’d go for simple black on black on this one Image is so powerful anyway, no need for coloured mounts I was planning all black, but floated against black didn't look quite right. If the blacks aren't exactly the same shade it looks a bit messy. I'm going for a very light grey backing, so it will echo the framing of the one at the show, but not exactly copy it. Hoping to get it back in the next week or so.

If you trust him/her, yes! Keep everything. All provenance. You'd really keep the box? With the emails from GDP, the GDP tag that comes with the print, plus the eventual PC COA, it feels like there's plenty of provenance. I don't think you need to hang on to two big bits of cardboard.

It’s a big freaking cardboard box! I dunno. Think I’m flipping it. Maybe cut out the instruction note on the outside, plop that in a cheap frame, pitch the rest and move on with things. Peace.

If your framer is decent they will return the finished article in packaging fitted to the frame, which is all you need to hold onto for any future house moves, storage, sale, etc.
Ditch anything generic, life's too small for empty boxes.

When banksy first released art prints , was an unknown , tubes packaging discarded now with these latest releases his market is at a high end level , you will have a few of the super collectors that will pay extra for all the extra items that came with the artworks . all types of collectors like different items, with Rolex collectors 500-£1000 difference for the watch box and plastic tags ,plastic bezel protector that are normally discarded

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by whatisart on Mar 8, 2020 13:23:39 GMT 1, going to get my Banksquiat framed tomorrow. first time framing anything, let alone something like this. anything to keep in mind? anything to ask for/look for/request? read something about UV glass? thanks! Firstly congratulations on scoring in the lottery - it’s great to see you are getting this framed. Just some general framing principles with something of this value: 1. Make sure you go to a conservation framer who uses full conservation grade materials. If they ask you what you mean then go somewhere else. There are a number of recommendations for good framers on this forum. If you are in London, Pauli in Acton and Darbyshires in Islington are both great. 2. Insist that you don’t want any kind of tape used - if you are float mounting the print, Japanese hinges with wheatpaste are best whereas if you are mounting make sure the corners of the print are held securely with Mylar corners. If you decide at some point in the future you want to sell the print, you need the process to be fully reversible. 3. Given the black background on this print I would strongly advise using non-reflective UV acrylic or museum glass. Both will be more expensive than standard UV glass but reflections will be minimal and will allow you to enjoy the print up close without having to stare at yourself. If I was in your shoes then given the size of this piece i would go for the UV acrylic as it will be the safer option as you don’t risk it being broken. The additional cost of non-reflective materials will be well worthwhile. I hope this helps, I’m sure others will also comment - feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Thanks! PM’d.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by whatisart on Mar 9, 2020 1:31:13 GMT 1, some relatively urgent advice needed
hey all, dropped my Banksquiat off yesterday but want to make sure i am 100% on how i am handling as this is not only my first Banksy, but my first piece ever.
1. i went with mat as the framer told me that tape needs to be used with floating. that said, i am worried about potential discoloration down the line and i'm not sure if i made the right choice.
2. i went with museum quality glass with UV protection and anti-reflective properties.
3. how do i know/is this fully conservation/archival?
this set me back ~$1,000.
i am kinda worried at this point that i may have jumped the gun. NOT that i had a bad experience at all, quite the opposite. just unsure if i am making the right/informed choices.
thank you!
