Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by dwight on Feb 5, 2007 22:57:03 GMT 1, Lots of prints sold today... I think every single Eine piece sold...that has to be 3 or 4 hundred prints! Those are some strong sales... Sold the most prints number wise I believe by far

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by ng5online on Feb 6, 2007 0:01:06 GMT 1, Already on Ebay? Thats absurd! As i've said before, bid up - negative feedback left. Problem solved. Maybe have like a communal ebay account... but then I guess thats the nature of art dealing, there will always be people who try and make money. I must admit that I had to sell my Invader print a couple of months ago (didnt get it from POW), in order to free up some cash, but my print collection is slowly growing.
I was very lucky to get my hands on a Shat-at today (olive).... I really wanted a chew barber, and there were 2 waiting, but I had to talk a phone call and steppd away from my laptop, only to return and click buy and they were gone. Yet when I click page 2, there was 1 shat-at left! Bonus! That is going straight in a frame, cant wait!
There are so so many prints I want.... hopefully they'll still be in stock on pay day. Another Banksy would be nice also.......
Fingers crossed

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by johnas on Feb 6, 2007 0:39:46 GMT 1, I aint so bothered about those that buy to re-sell as a business on ebay... I've bought enough prints myself from ebay 'art dealers' and I wouldn't class them as scalpers. they're simply filling a gap in the market
my amazement is that people will list items that they don't even physically own yet... let's say it's damaged in the post to them and they've already sold it on, someone along the way is gonna be disappointed

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by pastiepie on Feb 6, 2007 0:53:19 GMT 1, I find it funny that their main advertisement was for modern toss prints but they only sold 50 of 200 for both. Maybe it's a sign that not everybody buys what their told.
Was a bit surprised that pretty much everything else up for sale sold, especially the Eine's. I'm guessing that a few people are just OCD about prints and over a month without a POW purchase was just too much.
Hopefully the Banksy prints will be released before the baggers of all 4 Micallef prints can pay off their credit cards.

I'm very surprised the Eines prints went so quickly, they were hanging around all December, my guess would be misguided speculators who think anything from POW is a must have double your money quick kind of thing.

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by stylus on Feb 6, 2007 14:33:34 GMT 1, Yeah - I blinked and missed it. I picked up Blue Train at Santa's Ghetto, then ummm'd and ahhh'd about whether to get Pink. I guess that decision has been made for me!
Agree with your point about the current gold rush on anything labelled POW. I find it a bit odd. Some prints I am fairly indifferent about flew out of the window. Mind you... so did some that I love! ;-)

I know a lot of people have said that they don't like the windows but I think more have said, to coin a phrase, "we hate eine".

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by Michael Jacob on Feb 6, 2007 15:03:43 GMT 1, Hello, I see people upset over Ebay, and i think thats a joke. How can you be upset by people selling their prints, whether they are a day old or five years old? Without Ebay, most of these prints wouldnt go up in value like they do. Instead of selling your print on a forum or local paper, Ebay puts your goods infront of a zillion people who will pay the extra dollar since they dont have countless hours to hit the refresh button. I damn near have a blister on my finger from doing it! Im in the States and get up at 3:00 in the morning on "print" days in hope of scoring a print.
Ebay helps everyone out. Id like to see anyone of you "ebay haters" sell me your signed Banksys for what you paid for it from POW.
Take the good with the bad.
Jake

Yeah ยฃ300 is a lot of money, the last ones were ยฃ225 which is more like it, but TMWWTW is a 5 colour screenprint (they've over printed the black 3 times) and although I haven't got it in my hands yet, I'm sure it'll scream quality, as the Last Tango does.

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by stylus on Feb 7, 2007 17:09:20 GMT 1, I agree. And on the subject of the so-called scalpers, I don't think it's fair to demonise them for what is effectively just human nature.
We buy the prints because we love them. But if I wasn't a fan, and knew I could buy one day and then sell for double the next, I'd well understand temptation.

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by pezlow on Feb 8, 2007 16:55:48 GMT 1, Can't believe this print buying - Nearly all the signed Faile have now been sold. Only 10 Macbeth left. This was a print that had been around since October and had clearly been selling at fairly moderate levels. Also it is not a patch on the Faile stuff that you can buy direct from their site.

Have you seen the MJ in person?
It is top notch IMO, one of their best images and perfectly executed.

On the other hand, I still couldn't bring myself to post one up in my house. I have prints with skulls, creepy kids, and other weird stuff, yet I think I'd be frightened when I walked by the MJ in the dark at 2am.

Anyone else waiting for 5th Feb?, by ABC on Feb 8, 2007 22:09:47 GMT 1, 250 for the new Matt small print is not over priced, I receieved one today and the quality is amazing, I would go as far as to say it looks like an original. As for the Neates they make Banksy prints look like something from a school print project. Im not saying I dont love Banksy becuase I do, its just the quality of these prints is exeptional. Anyone living in London get to Elms lesters to have a look. People didn't bat an eyelid spending ยฃ500 on the Micallef eyestorm prints - remember what happened to those .

Who knows up and coming talent that aren't 'street/stencil' artists?
