Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by lv90210 on May 8, 2020 12:04:28 GMT 1, Hi all — I’ve been a long time fan of Banksy and finally have some cash to be able to own a piece of his art. Please message me if you have any pieces for sale - I have budget of around £10k, and would like to have a pest control certificate. I’m not going to be flipping or reselling so would appreciate dealing with someone who doesn’t want to take advantage of first time buyer! you'll only get a flags for that.
Yes I did call it !

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by cest on May 8, 2020 12:07:34 GMT 1, I bought a mint Weston-super-Mare in November from tate Ward auctions. Ran me 6500 pounds... Maybe an extra 500 shipping to the US.
I was offered an applause and a golf sale 4 under 11k USD over the winter. I have a feeling that you'll find that again soon.

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by Love Is In The Air on May 8, 2020 12:15:44 GMT 1, Hi Scott,
Would also recommend looking here:
www.banksy-value.com/index.php#Database
Not my website but I find it useful/interesting source of data. Has past auction results for Banksy and future ones listed. Will give you a good idea what you might be able to buy and also perhaps stop you overpaying if you go the auction route.
Good luck with the purchase!

I was fortunate enough to get a rat printout there from one of the staff! But yeah, really want to get some of the early work with the pest control certificate.
Print out.

With premium that will break £10k for sure. They have a WSM in that auction which if you’re lucky may go for just over £10k with premium, if you can buy at starting bid you’ll pay around £10.7k with all fees.

Another WSM listed for 10000GBP here. I checked a few weeks ago and they were willing to let go for 8750GBP including insured shipping to Europe, so that's around 8500ish if picked up locally I guess. www.artsy.net/artwork/banksy-weston-super-mare-65

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by LJCal on May 13, 2020 21:08:50 GMT 1, A toxic Mary passed at Tate Ward, not sure of condition but that can probably be bought for around £12k with all fees. I know a gallery selling Grannies for €12,000 so £10.5k.

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by denzil on May 13, 2020 21:30:21 GMT 1, With the recent auctions that have taken place are prices moving? Up across the board? Static? Or down? Just want to know if I should be holding out for a couple of months for prices to come down a little or just buy now? Still looking out for any of the classic POW prints. Thanks so much. give it six months , prices will plummet

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by cest on May 13, 2020 21:44:22 GMT 1, Thanks guys — checked out the WSM, it’s okay as a piece.. but I do prefer the others. I’m buying this not to resell but to keep, so want to enjoy the actual piece. There are ones that I prefer to WSM out there.
Never understood the hate for wsm... Super strong image ... Walk by it daily and during the early covid days during march this year, when days were darkest, the image actually scared me.
Reminds me daily that life is short. It says much more than pulp fiction

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by tab1 on May 13, 2020 21:51:33 GMT 1, Okay cool. Thanks. Yeah it seems the galleries will just throw out any number that makes sense. Thankfully I’m learning quick and call them out. Then they go quiet... will hold out for one that makes sense, when referencing Banksy-value.com
Private Sellers will do the same And will quote auction prices inc fees Unless buying a damaged print the days of finding a bargain banksy is over Best bet is to put out your requests out of the specific prints you want if you want sellers to contact Even flags is being offered for 10k plus in some places

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by Deleted on May 13, 2020 22:12:49 GMT 1, Good luck with your search, Scott. Getting a Banksy is an exciting prospect, and you should be able to benefit from lots of solid advice from this forum - if you’re able to navigate through some of the noise. As mentioned above, Flags has for a while been the lowest priced unsigned print. It was an edition of 1,000 and printed on fragile paper, so lots have issues that you’d have to decide whether you could live with. If you’re after a signed print, the No War print which was available as part of the Pax set is a good entry point. You might well get one for below £10,000, if you can find one. Dismaland gift prints are signed and dedicated, and have also been sold for much less than £10,000, but you wouldn’t get a COA for one. If you’re a serious buyer, it’s worth dropping Pest Control an email as they had started to sell old prints, ahead of the bbay launch. I don’t know if they’ve paused this during the pandemic, but it’s worth a go. They were very helpful and you’ll be certain you’re getting the real deal. Good luck Great post,
I think you should be able to find a flags below £10,000... it happens to be my favourite & first print I ever bought!
I still to this day can’t understand how under-rated it is! I like it though, and that’s all that matters in all honesty.

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by Octopus UK on May 16, 2020 16:14:18 GMT 1, I remember receiving a Paolozzi print with a crease. The seller sent me some £'s to compensate (poor packaging - between many sheets of corrigated cardboard but the "grain" in all the pieces of corrigation was in the SAME direction so very strong up down but weak across!). I decide to tackle the crease myself, damp blotting paper and a cool iron helped a lot.

Get the f**kout of here. That is the one place you get any actual empirical data to support sales. Plus somebody put a lot of time into that, and if you don't like it don't bash it. Just pay way more or offer way less than anybody will ever sell to you

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~£10k), by mission on May 17, 2020 18:01:27 GMT 1, the problem is that some of the prices are misleading...either too low or too high..
show me where you can buy an unsigned barcode for £13-£16k?? its not even close.
Or a signed BC for £45-£55?? this isn't even close...as i said its misleading and gives a false sense of pricing..however i think the creator has done a great job and should be commended..but just don't take these prices as Gospel thats all.

The market moves so quickly that it’s impossible to be 100% accurate but this site is as up to date as possible. Barcode is a rare print and signed versions don’t sell very often. The unsigned version was around £15k for a long time. Like most unsigned they have gone up a lot this year. With signed galleries are asking a lot more but the evidence suggests it’s not dramatically more than quoted. I have purchased a signed barcode recently in that range.
