shipping advise for the US, by acme on Jul 16, 2021 22:51:14 GMT 1, Hello fellow collectors, what is the preferred shipping company for a print tube in the US? Value is $500, shipping from NYC.
USPS? FedEx? UPS? Are there any other shipper?
Thanks

shipping advise for the US, by acme on Jul 16, 2021 23:38:57 GMT 1, sounds good, any estimate how much a tube will cost domestic?
print size is 19" x 14", so the tube will be around 16" I guess.

shipping advise for the US, by acme on Jul 17, 2021 4:33:45 GMT 1, I tried to get the shipping rate from FedEx, but it doesn't take the dimensions.
But from what I see, shipping a tube is more like $60.

shipping advise for the US, by bestdj777 on Jul 17, 2021 13:05:11 GMT 1, Iโd use USPS. Itโs the most economical way. Should be less than $10.00. Just do yourself a favor and use a real tube rather than one of those stupid triangle ones that they sell and always crush.
If you have PayPal, you can use them to get a quote and purchase a shipping label. I think you save a little over the post office too.

shipping advise for the US, by nobokov on Jul 17, 2021 15:03:24 GMT 1, Don't, what ever you do, use UPS. They are f***ing awful. They're all pretty shitty though. Fedex lost my package and I had to email the executives to get them to act.

USPS over UPS? Never had issues shipping internationally with UPS, canโt say for US only. Like nobokov said, they all mess up but USPS is definitely the worst imo

shipping advise for the US, by kwatis on Jul 17, 2021 15:43:31 GMT 1, I personally rank and use them in this order (im in the US). FedEx USPS
And UPS is never an option IMO.
I haven't used them yet, but heard a lot of good things about sendmybag.com from artists and collectors.
Important thing is how it's packaged. I personally spent the added time and energy in flat packing something and shipping at an added expense. I never have to wonder "will it arrive safely."
I also will photograph the items as I package them, that way if somwthing should happen I have thorough documentation of how it was packaged for the claim.

shipping advise for the US, by acme on Jul 17, 2021 16:11:18 GMT 1, Back in Europe I used UPS a lot and had no issues. FedEx the same. It seems like same companies over in the USA have another way of doing things, maybe its just easier for them to circumvent customer complaints.

shipping advise for the US, by acme on Jul 17, 2021 16:17:21 GMT 1, I have plenty of tubes and if possible I put one into a bigger one (Matryoshka doll), maybe additionally I put the tube into a square package, seems cheaper .
What about DHL? Any experience using them in the US ?
