Its with great sadness I have to write this post.
Yesterday our fellow member "Sacked", real name Gary Dunk passed away. One of Gary's close friends through many years, sent me the news via email last night.
Gary joined the forum in 2007, and he absolutely loved it. I joined a year later, and we quickly started texting. We both had health issues, which I think somehow connected us, at least we had an understanding about each others issues. The reason we started texting was that he was helping out a lot of people on the forum, who could not go to art shows in the UK, and would send out everything from stickers to posters from those shows, to those who could not be there. As I was from Denmark, this meant a lot to me. He never even asked for me to pay for the postage.
Gary and I kept texting on an almost daily basis till now. It was weird, as we have never met, we didn't even know what each looked like, it didn't matter, it never did. It as all about the passion for art, jokes and just cheering each other up whenever something bad came up.
Sadly Gary became more ill as the years passed on, and he could not go to the art shows which he loved so much. However, forums like this one and good friends in the scene kept the passion for art alive. Gary and I discussed art up till the very end, and he was my go to person for everything art related.
His death will leave a huge hole in my life personally. I cant believe hes gone, I sit here looking at the texts from just a few days ago, and also the last few I sent that I can see he never got to read.
Gary affected many people in his life, and undoubtedly also some of you on the forum, which is also the reason why I'm making this post. To let you all know, that we all have lost an incredible forum member and friend.

I 've known Gary since 2011 on facebook (I loved everything about him, his name), where we were great friends. He even gave me a surprise one day (just asking my address), a print, "Kate" by Pam Glew. I even thought that he was a secret and great galerist, one of those that has known of legends of the street-art scene.
I loved Gary and his latest avatar ( a Bowie Pic of Scary Monsters) is well known to everyone. just to see his name, was moving me, sacked27 on Insta.
I learned through the forum that he had been sick and that he was making his comeback ( according a post that he wrote ( great fiend of Coach too ) , more than two years ago I believe), I saw him less on Facebook before that, I did not know why...
And Then Gary changed his avatar and put on a black mask on Instagram, and I was just thinking everything is better. We often tagged our names on Instagram for art ( just yesterday or the day before ), he tagged me, I tagged him, oh my god may Gary rest in peace and know that I think and will think of him every day ! He was love, friendship, a moment of ineffable happiness as soon as I saw his name tagged me ... Rip Gary, you are a legend. A such a great person.

He joined the same year as me (under a different name) and i always found him to be a good 'poster' who contributed a lot and who i noticed helped others out. It just goes to show how well thought of he was on here when i see so many long term members already paying tribute. R.I.P Gary, you wil be missed.

He was a very friendly chap and an extremely helpful forum member.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing and even though we never met in person, this place has a way of us feeling like we actually know each other in a human interactive way.
