VAT on Print Purchases from USA, by cwlscots on Jan 26, 2023 9:59:15 GMT 1, I was going to buy a print from the states unframed and the Vat would be 5%. If I buy it framed will that remain the same code / % or does the frame affect it and it goes up to 20%.
Would be great to find out if anyone knows? Thanks very much

VAT on Print Purchases from USA, by its all about me on Jan 26, 2023 13:48:31 GMT 1, The 5% rate depends on how the print is made, not whether it's in a frame or not. Basically if it has the involvement of a human in the process, like hand-pulled screenprints for example, then you will get the 5% rate, as long as the import form is correctly filled out, for course, with the correct tariff code. If it's a mass-produced poster (even a signed poster), then you wont.
