Wall mounting skate decks advice , by artstuff on Feb 1, 2024 12:19:08 GMT 1, Hi I wanted to wall mount a set of skate decks and was wondering if anyone has bought a mount that they would recommend?
I had a look on Amazon and there is a wide variety and I would like to avoid damage to the decks.
thanks

Wall mounting skate decks advice , by Frndly Fire on Feb 1, 2024 13:10:17 GMT 1, For the cheapskate you can use fishing wire and any hook. Thread the fishing wire through the holes in the board, tie off a loop, then hang on your hook. Practically invisible and very easy to do.

This is how i've always hung mine, keeps it invisible and less fuss.
Think I used flymo lawnmower thread for mine and a screw in hook

There are a few companies that make mounts that either don't need / have those, or they have a less rugged version that marks them less.
Skateroom sell these, for example: theskateroom.com/product/snap-display-skate-wall-mount These are another option: www.hellahangers.com/

The deck is flush against the wall and the wire is completely undetectable to the eye. 100% recommend.

OP! Don't listen to these other mad lot with their fishing line. I expect these were those kids at school with string for shoelaces and band aids holding their glasses together😂

Sure, you can always throw away money and make your life more complicated than it needs to be. However, this deck is hand-painted by Chaz Bojorquez (godfather of the LA cholo graffiti style from the same era as Dogtown and Z-Boys, so it made sense to me) and I think the fishing wire technique looks about as slick as could be. But, to each their own.

Oops, they are basses. That makes me feel better. You hang around with musicians....

I don't always Fender, but when I do, Fender...
You've come this far...show us the amps. Oh, maybe you are one of those that only play electric guitars acoustically. I've known one or two of those.

Wall mounting skate decks advice , by Jules Leotard on Feb 1, 2024 21:21:45 GMT 1, Well, maybe you should bring it full circle by uploading a sound file to prove these aren't merely movie props...
Then again, your delicate fingers might not be up to the task...

Wall mounting skate decks advice , by cemltz on Feb 1, 2024 21:47:58 GMT 1, Ah Jules, you finally got me. The guitars are just there to cover holes in the walls and the amps just keep the rugs from moving around. I can’t play a lick.
Now, if you live in North America or the UK, decent odds you’ve already heard me play. Or, as our last producer put it, been “subjected to” my playing. Whatever that means.

It takes a bigger man than me to admit they have been gotten! Clearly living in an earthquake-prone area as well, rugweights, novel solution. If I have heard you play, I would rather hear you play something I haven't heard you play. A trifle. A brief noodling. I subject my produce (bananas, apples, lemons, whatever is in the bowl) to the occasional ear-boxing as well (if only they had ears, too bad for them).
