SALE / TRADE - UPDATED, by manchestermike on May 1, 2009 10:58:32 GMT 1, Why not sell these under your gallery persona?
Because 1) Edge Art is a limited company and is not me. I own these artworks, not Edge Art. 2) Edge Art is not a secondary market dealer. We work with artists on the primary market and have no plans to become a secondary market dealer.

SALE / TRADE - UPDATED, by veralynn on May 1, 2009 18:24:22 GMT 1, I don't frown upon secondary market dealers (and I'm using the term as opposed to armchair based 'gallery' flippers) as they offer the market valuable liquidity.

Not in the slightest. Well, not by me in the slightest at all. It's just not the route I wanted to go down with Edge Art

SALE / TRADE - UPDATED, by low3 on May 1, 2009 23:32:46 GMT 1, I think there's a massive difference bewteen the two really.
Secondary market galleries aren't so much galleries, more like people seeking an easy buck by buying and selling artists who are already massively profitable and already have a world stage.
Primary market gallerys are much more like talent scouts, rooting out the good up and coming artists and making their works more readily available, and so building the artist a reputation. I think these type of gallerys should be applauded for doing that, rather than setting out to just make a quick and easy profit. They are after all, building the banksys of tomorrow and sustaining the scene.
Mike (and all your fellow gallery owners like you), you have my admiration and my gratitude.

They're really nice David. I moved house not long ago though and they just don't look right in the new place (more windows than walls!) and there is no point storing them so unfortunately I think they have to go
