Lazinc In Newcastle...., by dodge on Nov 30, 2007 21:25:52 GMT 1, Nice job Opus! Some lovely stuff here but at those prices I am afraid I shall be window shopping only.
Wasn't there mention on the Lazinc e-mail about there being prints available at some point? Anybody heard any rumours?

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by motor on Dec 1, 2007 10:52:28 GMT 1,
Thanks for these. + Top pieces for me-anytime any-day. I don't like Laz much(if at all) but I have to say he's working with the top urban artists. I know Neate, Parla and Bast are not officially under his belt however things are not usually as they seem

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by ABC on Dec 1, 2007 13:03:28 GMT 1, As stated on another forum, IMO CH is a painter that is more talented then some "Old masters" If you disagree then just look at the comparisons between CH's horse detail and similar works by "George stubbs" absolutely stunning. I'm also glad I got a 3d print becuase thats a real cracker too.

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by Rude Copper on Dec 1, 2007 13:16:10 GMT 1, i dont think anyone doubts conor harrington's prowess as an artist, its the subject matter that falls short for me, for all the technique, colour, energy used, its stil a cavalryman on horseback, just does'nt strike a chord, love the micallef angel though& a great bast too.

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by numusic on Dec 1, 2007 14:04:14 GMT 1, Think I agree, and ANT, no way can CH be compared to Stubbs or any "Old Masters" old boy. For one, the horse in that jpeg is far from perfect, no character, no movement, no real flair... looks quite static and wooden.. the back leg perspective looks a bit off also.. and the tail doesn't really give you that feeling of errrm "tailness"... doesn't seem to be any real power in it at all. Probably copied from a photograph, nice photorealistic shadows, but that's a technique easily learned. To compare this with Stubbs or "better than an Old Master".. is well.. maybe a bit fanclub.
No doubt CH has skills..I love some of CH's portraits and his work on the streets is IMO some of the best there is... but well painted cavalrymen... doesn't do anything for me. Is it meant to be political ?

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by valeha on Dec 1, 2007 15:46:36 GMT 1, has the Francis been bought? I'm assuming it has, not that I have 7k lying around...I just think it's beautiful.
Also someone else mentioned Girl in Red Dress selling for 5k?! is that true? There was a thread on the ebay section where people were saying if it came up it would fetch 25k I said I didn't think it'd reach anywhere near that figure! Hey I may have been right!
Thanks for the great pics too!
