Lazinc In Newcastle...., by dodge on Nov 27, 2007 20:28:04 GMT 1, Does anybody have any further information on the new Lazinc Gallery In Newcastle? They are being typically cagey and avoiding giving anything away. A friend said it was going to be based at 77 the Quayside but she could not get any further details when she went for a peek.
Wonder if we will see any new stuff or just leftovers from the Soho gallery?
So many questions, so few answers

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by finlee on Nov 27, 2007 20:40:27 GMT 1, looking into it further it's next to sarah mains and a bar that does treble vodkas for £1.95 used to be called flynns.
The place itself is the old soup shop.

Christ, I used to drink in Flynn's when I was a student. They used to have a 50p fridge downstairs full of alcopops (remember them?)
Was the building formerly Heartbreak Soup? If so, I'm not sure I could go there. I once went on a first date there with a girl who ordered fish and ate the whole thing, including skin, bones and the hard tail bit. I could vomit just thinking about it.

Ha Ha. No I didn't. Needless to say a second date did not follow.
I don't think it will be Santa's Ghetto, it sounds like another Lazinc offshoot as opposed to POW (if that makes sense seeing as the same guy owns them both!). I would be if the Ghetto was outside of London.
I may pop in on Friday to see if there has been any progress. Here's hoping I walk into an empty gallery full of signed Banksy's, Micallef's et al as far as my beady little eyes can see!

It'll be nice even having a Laz outlet so far north. Still halfway to london for me, but at least its not all the way to london.

Lazinc In Newcastle...., by Opus Underground on Nov 29, 2007 22:49:51 GMT 1, Nice space, very expensive work... Nice Ian Francis Original, about 5 Micallef Originals, 3D, Neate, Hewlett, Invader, Faile, Donovan, Bast, Insect etc etc pretty much all Laz artists there were two amazing Candice Tripp canvases and that Diamond skull which was left out sidewhite cube which seemed a bit out of context in a gallery!

Oh and a Faile piece I bought for around £70 quid few years ago was priced at £2000 + VAT so if anybody want's a Bunny Boy 2 the price has been set
