good gift to give someone who is expecting?, by elwheel on May 12, 2010 0:18:56 GMT 1, Just had our first kid on April 17th - a baby girl we named Aoibh. Unbelievable wee thing. Friends and family are very good and generous but we had bought most of our stuff in advance. If you know what kind of buggy they got find out if they have all of the accessories. For example, we boughty a Quinny buzz 4, but you have to buy the 'pram bit' seperately, likewise the footmuff, rainguard etc...etc... Then you also need a good carseat that is compatible with the buggy. Baby stuff can cost a little or as much as you want to pay for it i.e you can get a changing bag (carries all the nappies, bibs, wipes, changing mat etc... for when you are out of the house with the child) for between £30-£50 for a good one or alternatively pay £180 for a designer one www.lilimay.com/diaper_bags/storksak.php The same goes for cots, baby activity centres/play-gyms, vibrating/bouncy chairs www.lesters-nurseryworld.co.uk/details.php?product=11548 and so on and so on. I bought my new born niece childrens bonus bonds through NS&I (boring but was running out of ideas). If your friend intends breast feeding they she will find a glider chair indispensible (my wife is breastfeeding and trust me - it is a lifesaver at 4am in the mrning for a mother feeding on demand) direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-5967.aspx Hope that helps.
