Great idea, I have had some these up on my walls for some time now, but now they need to go:

These are all piece's in the cheaper end of the scale, just looking for something else.

GREAT IDEA but I think we need to be a bit more constructive if this threat should not end up in a huge mess and die aborning.
If everyone just posting his not-wanted art, ok. But what then?
You have to find two parties who like the other ones not-wanted. Guess this sounds easier as it is.
At least you need a bit information on these not-wanted art:
- give some relevant information to your piece
- at least a price tag or equivalent "value points" what you value your stuff
- what artists/pieces are you looking for to trade

What do you think, any ideas?

This thread can work if we all pitch in a little.
1. list name of item and original price including shipping (and if you can't remember like me put down an estimate)
2. list 3 or so artists that you would be interested in trading for
3. list 3 or so pieces that you would be interested in trading for
4. list where you are located
If fellow forum members can help with the history of these items that would be greatly appreciated.
If I were to follow to these 4 simple guidelines my post would look like this.
1. First Great Weston (FGW)- original price including shipping $750 US Dollars?
2. Would like work by artists like Slinkachu, Banksy , D'FACE.
3. looking for the peace sign by D"FACE , anything by Slinkachu , unsigned grannies by Banksy.
4. I am located in the United States

As mentioned earlier I very much like the idea. But I agree to both of you, Wearo and Zippy.
Chance there is, hard to realize, oh yes.
Additionally so many members are only swapping within the inner circle of London based forum members. What I understand, but would be great if due to consistent rules e. g. on shipping etc. this could be extended to an international circle. Opens many new opportunities for LDN people, anyway.
And the value of an piece of art is what the seller think it is and what the buyer is able to pay.
This is why I brought up the idea with "value points" instead of pounds or dollars. Even if it is the same value it sounds differently. Maybe we should say 1 value point is 10 pounds. That would strengthen this effect. Did I smoke something, no, just some ideas which came around.
And when we are working a little bit more on these guidelines and bring them down to 5 easy rules, it may work.

I must say i agree with bigtlt, i think the more open this section is the better, leave it down to individuals to communicate. Especially since some could involve overseas shipping etc.

Plus, i've got bits n pieces from swaps that i couldn't put a value on at all, so the more complicated the system, with points etc, would just be more likely to put me off!

I have so many pieces of art that are not going to make my walls - I realize that I will never recoup their original value and wanted to trade within our community without going to EBAY. I posted a FGW last night and have already received several PM's with potential trade offers. A lot of us are tight for cash these days so to buy some new art at this point is probably money better spent on food and rent - but we all love art and I know that nothing takes my mind off of reality that a shiny new piece of art that arrives in the post.
