SOLD SOLD Vintage KRYLON Jungle Green 2011, by covertshadowops on Jul 14, 2010 21:46:47 GMT 1, just like everything.... something to someone is collectable and desirable.
just like banksy prints, some are rarer than others, with krylon some colours were better than others, and certain colours became obsolete. so cans of paint became like money.
graf artists can tell a jungle green colour on the wall from a long way away.
one of Elms Lesters' first shows was called.. 'icy grape 1924' ( considered the rarest paint there is) some cans date back to the 1960's... each can varies in design dependant on age.
check inside most old skool graf artists studio and you will find cans. STASH in particular highlighted the theme in his artwork and it became iconic.
its what tells a true graf artist apart from a street artist of today, like mr brainwash.
history of your tools of the trade.

Well 99% of people surely know the history of Krylon and what it stands for in the graff world, I was just intriged as to why one can was worth more than another... thanks for the info though

SOLD SOLD Vintage KRYLON Jungle Green 2011, by Poppy Sunshine on Jul 15, 2010 11:11:08 GMT 1, I had absolutely no idea there was a market for cans of paint.
Are there any sites or places to look to get some more info and knowledge on the subject just for interest?
I feel a bit left out not knowing about "icy grape". Was that normal paint in a tin then rather than spray can stuff?
My ears have gone bright red and I can hear a lot of tutting from the graff anoraks.
Would it be a good time to offer my Dulux paint chart up for swaps or should I leave it in the safe for a few more years?

hmmm maybe some vintage dulux would be good for some decorators . I think these cans are a design classic and would not look out of place in the V&A

SOLD SOLD Vintage KRYLON Jungle Green 2011, by Poppy Sunshine on Jul 15, 2010 11:29:13 GMT 1, Well I'm really excited about my new collection.
Just been to the garage and I already have 14 tins of different coloured paint to start me off.
Really regretting putting my foot through the top of that 10 litre tub of wickes trade matt magnolia last week. If anyone knows a paint tub lid restorer perhaps you can put me in touch.
Also need a good vet or similar to get my now black and beige cat back to what he should be.

SOLD SOLD Vintage KRYLON Jungle Green 2011, by covertshadowops on Jul 15, 2010 22:16:52 GMT 1, i do street tours / seminars and good cups of tea too.
however, krylon is a thing of the past. the preference now is montana paints, with the use of a NY thin or a fat cap.... mostly in os gem yellow.
its all about can control. then you have to master using it upside down. there is only 1 graf legend that can do that....... senor dosmil.
bbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg!
