Any comments are always welcome. I tried it with the brush in a pot/blu-tak/set square. None of which worked at the time. Gonna give it some more thought though. (BTW this is hand cut and sprayed, not a print )

"In loving memory" (Death of art EDIT), by sakyamuni on Mar 2, 2010 23:57:09 GMT 1, i like it, i can't really give more comments but i like it, it takes a few seconds to get it but it looks good. Maybe some color on the other brush too to make it easier to get? Another color than red? I let you decide...

"In loving memory" (Death of art EDIT), by Drymounted on Mar 3, 2010 2:34:44 GMT 1, Loving it! Maybe give the main brush post some weight by giving it come kind of foundation..Maybe an ink jar or something along those lines.

"In loving memory" (Death of art EDIT), by flickabix on Mar 3, 2010 8:22:36 GMT 1, cool piece! support issue is also distracting to me though..
perhaps if you move the red paint a little upwards, and lengthen the post a tad so that the post stands in it? You might even not need the gray then.
I also find the paint pot directly under the figure a little disturbing.
First time for me too and agree with animal art - feels wrong! But one more personal unprofessional opinion since you asked: the blood comes across as a shadow at first glance, but (since it is not) has entirely the wrong shape. Perhaps you can play on this and make the blood directly under the feet follow a shadow for a bit before it spills out?

Bingo. You got it. These little unused wooden fellas don't have blood in them. Have a look on our flickr for a bit more of a close up to see what's actually going on. It's definitely just red paint.

"In loving memory" (Death of art EDIT), by flickabix on Mar 3, 2010 10:45:50 GMT 1, haha yeah ok. i did realise that but couldn't help substituting the word paint for blood (as that seemed what you were trying to convey). a dismal state of affairs when art decides to hang itself though innit.
love the Quick Photoshop job btw!

Tragic indeed. Redundancy hits many people in many different ways. This poor little fella had been out of work since the late 80's. His family have been informed. RIP
