Some Street Art at auction in France... Banksy..., by Brushstrokes 75 on Dec 4, 2010 15:02:54 GMT 1, There's a lot of chances that Artaban did. Those OG are quite recent and I don't see anyone else offering them. Like the idea of the sale with the japanese animation cell as well

Some Street Art at auction in France... Banksy..., by Brushstrokes 75 on Dec 6, 2010 1:45:15 GMT 1, Unless it was a gift of some kind, you won't get a COA. But then, it's a respected auction house. Once an art piece enters the auction circuit, there's little chance that anyone would say that it's a fake. As long as you bought it from auction, nobody will question the piece whatever PC says. The piece is in!
A lot of pieces have been sold in the past with no COA (I mean Banksy OG's)...
But I think that it won't sell... This auction house doesn't really have the client base to sell street art... I think a few months back they didn't sell a faile tender with an estimate of 300 euros lol (I wish I would have know prior to the sale).

Some Street Art at auction in France... Banksy..., by wizzy on Dec 6, 2010 9:30:53 GMT 1, This one only has a Vermin COA with it Brushstrokes, means nothing, check the Lyon and Turnbull sale. Also i have come across fakes which have been sold on at all kinds of auctions, it happens and thats why there is a period post sale to rectify any problems which may arise. This is i agree a respected Auction house but experts cannot be expected to be experts in every field. Im not certain but i wouldnt think this piece will ever get a PC COA?.
edit: Not saying at all that this Welder Rat is fake but i am saying that it has a Vermin "COA" which counts for nothiing.

Some Street Art at auction in France... Banksy..., by Brushstrokes 75 on Dec 6, 2010 11:07:38 GMT 1, I agree with both of you guys lol.
I said that this piece will never get PC cert. I was just saying that Christie's & Sotheby's I've been selling banksy's without PC (or other artists). I was just making the point that if it sells, it will enter the circuit as no one will say it's fake, unless PC wants to look at it (which they won't).
I'm not so sure that I'm made myself clear. It's just the whole old debate that Auction Houses creates provenance and authenticity. There's not that many people who will say that Christie's are selling fakes even if they know it..
