Slightly Damaged Beejoir Turin Scam - Help, by RBK on Apr 16, 2011 21:36:50 GMT 1, This is part 'need help' thread / part 'potential sale' thread.
I sold a Beejoir - Turin Scam print that got a bit damaged during transit. It was then returned to me. I'm convinced the shipping tube was opened en route to the buyer and whoever handled the print manhandled rolling it back up.
Fortunately the front of the print isn't in bad shape. It's more the back.
Attached are some photos: s685.photobucket.com/albums/vv220/rbk79/
So my questions: 1. Has anyone successfully ironed out minor creases? If so, what is the best way to do this? 2. Or other advice? 3. Is anyone interested in purchasing this off me?
Thanks.

What's "quite cheap"? I've got the option on a couple of damaged prints that I need to work out if it's worth it (for the price)
Sorry to jump on your thread RBK.

Slightly Damaged Beejoir Turin Scam - Help, by Rude Copper on Apr 17, 2011 13:10:20 GMT 1, you'd be surprised. i have a miro print that had been stuck to a backboard, & when removed it tore away, leaving a hole, he grafted it back to the point where it is undetectable, the cost was 100 he did a couple of banksy prints for me at about 70, banksy's are the most frequent print in his workshop, because the paper used was very cheap,

Slightly Damaged Beejoir Turin Scam - Help, by wizzy on Apr 17, 2011 19:32:29 GMT 1, 100?, ok with that in mind i will pay up to 500 quid!!! for a damaged, ripped, or screwed up Banksy print (Rats & Monkeys prefered of course, must also be signed).
Really though seems like a good idea to keep his details just incase.

Slightly Damaged Beejoir Turin Scam - Help, by stickitup on Apr 18, 2011 11:19:32 GMT 1, I had a similar dink in a print of mine and was in touch with a member of the guild of paper restorers and she told me this, however I accept no responsibility for damage you do in folllowing my instruction: buy a household hand water sprayer like you might use if you are a keen gardener, set the spray to mist as much as possible gently spray a couple of times over the area that is creased, then sandwich the print inbetween two sheets of blotting paper and sandwhich the 3 sheets inbetween card or flat wood and put a heavy weight on it. check it in 3-6 months and it should be fine. The key to this process in my opinion is that you do not over wet the paper, so do be carefull when spraying, also check that no build up of water has formed near the sprayer nozzle and so no drips fall onto your beloved print. Hope that helps
