Latest Buy / How To Pack a Print, by mattgold on Mar 11, 2010 22:53:06 GMT 1, Just thought I'd pop up a few pics of my latest purchase, and give kudos to Aberfeldy Watermill Gallery in Scotland for a sensational service, and the best packing job I've seen to date. Surprisingly, I had contacted at *least* five galleries advertising this print and only two actually responded to e-mails/web requests.
This is really a welcomed arrival as I'm currently in a bit of a tiff with a member who sent a DFace print packaged so-so and uninsured (you guessed it, it got damaged).
Not too get too gaga over the packaging - but this is fantastic. Shipped flat, six layers of protection, and amazing service and help before/during the sale.
Almost there...
There she is.
I'm not unpacking further until I get to the framers. Will update the post when framing is complete.
If you want to check them out: The Aberfeld Watermill Gallery... www.aberfeldywatermill.com/art/
Specifically, Ruth was a dream to deal with, although Kevin was great too.

that's an example for everyone who ever sends something that expensive.. Looks perfect man!
Also: congrats on the print! very curious if it is signed and what you paid.. but I don't dare to ask how much you paid, so I don't.

Says £3000 on their site so i guess that answers your question about it being signed? My favourite banksy i think this one.

Latest Buy / How To Pack a Print, by mattgold on Mar 12, 2010 3:39:54 GMT 1, Hey guys
Print is not signed - I can't drive a signed print around town - and the unsigned gives me the same effect. =)
Price was slightly below asking, but I also had to pick up the shipping tab from Scotland>Miami.
I really have to reiderate - Watermill should be a bookmark for you guys. Realistic prices, polite during negoations - people you will really enjoy doing business with.
Oh and since I had a few questions about it... Here was the total packing process:
Print>Tissue>Paper on Corners>Cardboard>Foam Board x2>Wood Board x2>Corrogated Cardboard Shell
Nothing less then stellar.
