The Dimensions of Money , by Silentbill on Jan 28, 2010 14:52:49 GMT 1, My Dimensions of Money series hopefully intends to show a money art transition between 2d, 3d & 4d. The video at the end makes it all clearer.

The Dimensions of Money , by junta on Jan 28, 2010 15:12:20 GMT 1, Was wondering what you've been working on. Looks like a really cool (and fun) experiment. I think I get the point of it too.

The Dimensions of Money , by Silentbill on Jan 28, 2010 20:08:05 GMT 1, Hi Junta, long time eh, Ive been working on loads but I caught the eye of someone that is interested in what I do and they told me to keep stuff under my hat for the time being, ready for some future project. Sitting on a few bits but just couldnt sit on an Augmental art project any longer (I wanted to be the first to do Augmental Money art
What is it you want to know fellas? How I made the hologram appear? Or the concept of it all?
Its basicly a 2 dimension (2-d), three dimensions (3-d) and a 4d, or a nth-d or Augmental.
All 3 notes are actual notes. The first one needs nothing to view it, the 2nd needs 3-d glasses and to access the augmental on the 3rd note you activate the hologram by putting your webcam on the bit that looks like a barcode (its really a marker to activate the Augmental Reality). The first 2 notes kinda just lead up to the Augmental Note.

The Dimensions of Money , by junta on Jan 28, 2010 23:17:40 GMT 1, ooo very hush hush, don't worry you've not missed much! I thought it had something to do with the value we put in money, our perception of what a little piece of paper is "worth" is all in our heads and thats what currency is based on. OR maybe something to do with the changing nature of money as technology permits...
actually I'm not so sure I get it anymore... that thing with the webcam is neat though, a guy showed me something like that on his PSP and I was amazed.

Thats it dude, were moving ever faster into paying for goods with technology (10011000 etc). Times were simple once and you bought goods with money you had (my 2-d note). Along came technology and we then used other things to pay like debit, credit, paypal etc (My 3d note which requires glasses). The Augmental Note was intended to be something from the future which we would pay with (Could possibly be embedded rfid chips, or even thumb scans, who knows).

The Dimensions of Money , by Pahnl on Jan 31, 2010 21:19:10 GMT 1, Conceptually strong work and the progression tells an interesting story, creating a very real sense of possible future.
You hear a lot about the digitization of all aspects of life but I've not read much about what could come after that, the 'next level' as it were. Impossible to predict but I'd be interested to see theories if anyone has links to literature about it.

The 2 black squares that look like barcodes are called markers, they have the 3d model code embedded within it.
Pahnl, I will email ya some info ya want.
Thanks for all the replies guys. Im after some advice as this is my first money art piece that Ive actually decided to have professionally printed. I know money art isnt the most popular on here but any advice on approx what price you all think would be reasonable?
