Art of the year 3000, by bige on Jan 24, 2010 22:53:15 GMT 1, Just wondering what art will look like in year 3000? Anything like this? How will technology & culture effect art in the future? Space travel, different planets, alien culture?

Art of the year 3000, by Daniel Silk on Jan 25, 2010 1:52:38 GMT 1, Very tricky one this I just don't know if people will be living in places where you would be hanging pieces of painted or printed art on the wall that far ahead in the future. Will the walls just be massive screens with ever changing images? Scenery? Art? TV of some sort? Maybe if we are out in space or on another planet we will want to be surrounded more by images of nature to remind ourselves of Earth?
I think I have said it before, but will 3D be the next step for art?

Art of the year 3000, by mimse on Jan 25, 2010 2:04:56 GMT 1, Well, lets leave the obvious opinion out about how the future will be, this will just put in too many things to take regard to.
I think the 2dimensional will be 'the past' in the evolving art-material. I think 3D (without wearing 3d-glasses obviously, we'll figure that out at that point), and maybe Lenticular? (like D*face's Queen one) and things like that will be very popular. I think sculptures will be popular too, based on the increasing popularity of 'toys' from street artist and Kaws things and so on.
So you walk in, in this room filled with street-art, its year 3000. You'll have like a life-size Churchill but with a green punk haircut right in the corner. Some art that looks like it reaches out for you. Also, maybe there will be like something that plays a sound clip when the piece detects eyes looking at it, or something.
But like any future-predictions, we try to predict something that we can relate too. But we should imagine the unimaginable.
Just come up with another idea, maybe art will reach beyond the walls and go into like refrigerators?. I imagine a little hotdog, like those from Banksy's NY Pet Shop right there beside the milk.

Art of the year 3000, by schlomo on Jan 25, 2010 12:08:23 GMT 1, gonna be hard to keep stuff on paper whilst the world catches fire and we all burn to death.
;D
I would imagine in the year 3000 a rat by the name of bonksy will start stenciling humorous pictures of humans holding placards up with various slogans scrawled on there, all over the remains of 'old london' whilst the cockroaches who rule 'new london' and the above ground realms fight for domination over the sea otter people of planet cuckoo.
