Micky Mouse Money, by Deleted on Nov 19, 2009 22:48:46 GMT 1, Found this: Because they are currency, Disney Dollars are designed to be difficult to counterfeit. Each bill is printed on 100% rag paper, made from old theme park costumes. They are printed on the same presses that the U.S. government uses to print its bills (Disney owns a 12% stake in the U.S. government). Each color on a Disney Dollar is actually a carefully designed pattern of four colors. A row of microprinting across the top of more recent bills reads "disneydollarsdisneydollars" etc., with the exception of a single intentional (rather humorous) misspelling.
The serial numbers of the bills are based on a complex code. With the exception of five bills specially created for collectors, every bill's serial number is the sum of three primes, and can be expressed as a whole number in binary. A counterfeiter who picks serial numbers that don't obey these (and many other) rules, will find his fakes easily uncovered.
Unfortunately, because Disney Dollars are not real currency, they are easier to counterfeit than you might expect. DisneyLies.com has no interest in ripping off the Disney corporation. However, if you do not have such scruples, we suggest that you send your name and address to to I Want To Forge Disney Dollars, 1313 Harbor Boulevard, Anaheim, Calif. 92802. You'll be taken care of.
Because Disney has gone out of its way to make Disney Dollars very much like real currency, the dollars have a great deal in common with "real" cash. Here's a quick comparison:

Micky Mouse Money, by bigtlt on Nov 20, 2009 0:36:16 GMT 1, Disney Dollars were introduced on May 5, 1987. The bills had 2 series the 1987 and 1987A series.
The Difference between the two series were that the first series had the "A" in the front and stated on the bill "May be used as legal tender only at Disneyland" This first series was issued at DisneyWorld. I presume this is why Disney came out with the second series the (1987A) with the "A" at the beginning and the end of the serial number, which stated on the bill "May be used as legal tender only at Disneyland and Walt Disney World"
They come in "A" dollars and "D" dollars. The former created for Disneyland in Anaheim, California (hence the "A"), and the latter "D" for Walt Disney World in Florida. The first few years, I have not verified when, have "A" as the start of the serial number regardless of location.
New Disney dollars have been produced every year since 1987 except 1992 and 2004. In 2006 Disney produced new Disney Dollars however they are consider "2005" because they were created for the theme "The Happiest Celebration on Earth) Since 2005 they also have "T" dollars (for The Disney stores) and "B" dollars (only as 50$ bills from the artist "Boyer" for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration). (information provided by
As of February 2007 Disney has produced Disney Dollars F series and E series F meaning Florida or DisneyWorld (not confirmed) and E for Disneyland (not confirmed). These bills letters are placed on the 2007 Pirates of the Caribbean Dollars. The "F" for "Flying Dutchman" The "B" for the "Black Pearl". On May 15th Disney also released "E" for "Empress" from "At World's End" /B and E/B; F in the front B on the end, in addition to the the F for Florida or DisneyWorld (not confirmed) and E on the front and F on the end. The F is for "Flying Dutchman" The "B" is for the "Black Pearl". On May 15th Disney also released the F/E bill The E is for "Empress" from "At World's End" These are on the Pirates of the Caribbean dollars. This is the first years we these serial letters have been released.

Micky Mouse Money, by bigtlt on Nov 20, 2009 17:13:27 GMT 1, I'm 30, and may aswell get paid in mickey mouse money at the minute, with all my bills and outgoings pretty much left with nothing.
Hard to keep an art collection with zero pennies.
