Spray Materials, by F*X on Aug 19, 2009 15:03:06 GMT 1, Hi all I hope some one can help This may appear to be a very silly question but it is asked for a very good reason. Does any one know of a low odour spray product that that can be use to replace the usual solvent based spray used in street work. As I am attempting to convince The health and safety police here that a commission can take place in a building occupied by children.

Spray Materials, by Dellboyy on Aug 19, 2009 15:09:16 GMT 1, I've not heard of anything like that personally... all the admittedly standard brands i've tried have the old smelly solvent thing going on!

Spray Materials, by Replete on Aug 19, 2009 15:13:20 GMT 1, Plutonium G is apparently a low odour and low solvent "safe" paint.
I cant vouch for it as I've never used it as it has got a poor colour range, hugely expensive and the can looks like an isotonic drink or deoderant ;D

You might be better off with getting some Ironlak as it apparently has the lowest solvent content of the more traditional graffiti spray paints and apparently it's pretty good paint and quite cheap.

Oh and MTN 94 is quite mild smelling but from the feel it has when I breathe it in I'd say it was quite heavy on solvent content.
I use belton indoors all the time with no mask, you just need to open up all the windows/doors to get good ventilation.

Spray Materials, by Replete on Aug 19, 2009 15:23:32 GMT 1, Although I use and rate Belton premium as the best paint for my uses I'd be slightly sceptical of those claims that it is "safe" as any prolonged inhalation of solvents such as toulene used in spray paint can lead to a panoply of health issues in later life. So if you value your health wear a mask.
I dont wear a mask as I like the idea of being killed by the thing I love and those fumes are my only remaining vice.

Spray Materials, by Replete on Aug 19, 2009 15:40:47 GMT 1, yeah I do love the smell of Belton the most but I like the fact that I can tell what paints are being used by writers by smell alone as every make has it's own unique smell, and even different colours within a range will smell slighty but distinctly different ie tar black in belton.
And on further ivestigation I cant find the safety factsheet on plutonium g as it seems it's not available on their site (all over brands should and do supply this) so I'd be wary as low odour doesn't always equate to low solvent content or decreased toxicity.

Spray Materials, by Replete on Aug 19, 2009 15:44:46 GMT 1, also I cant stress enough how good MTN 94 is as it's a real alternative to Belton and is in some ways better ie coverage especially on unprimed surfaces/stock caps/price, but when used together they're unstoppable.

Thats true, was using MTN 94 recently and discovered the pink has a rather pleasant bubblegum aroma to it
