On any other day I would be right behind Ireland (being Welsh and all that!) - however after last nights disappointment a part of me wants England to win so we still have a chance of winning the championship in Cardiff on the 17 March
Should be a good game today; I fully expect you to win

someone in work said the same. id rather see wales lose the championship than see england win a game.

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by Agent Provocateur on Feb 28, 2009 17:17:32 GMT 1, and probably the 2nd 10 mins, the 3rd 10 mins etc etc
He will be targeted because if he's allowed to play his own game with confidence and space he can definitely be a match winner

I wasn't sure what to make of this, but after watching the first 10 mins, I've realised I won't ever feel comfortable supporting England, especially against Ireland, so I have to agree with you.

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by beasty on Feb 28, 2009 21:00:11 GMT 1, Awful match. On that performance I don't think Wales will have any problems against the Irish on the last day of the tournament. They bottled it completely but thanks to O'Driscoll came away with a win.
I have a feeling Danny Care got the hairdryer treatment from Johnson after the match!

Another dire game; I'm not sure when the last time I saw England involved in a classic - they sure know how to play a poor game of rugby They've got nothing to play for any more so time to wield the axe IMO...
O'Driscoll was an inspiration and will be the first name on the Lions teamsheet (assuming he avoids injury which going by recent games will be difficult!!)

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by richy00 on Feb 28, 2009 21:53:44 GMT 1, time to weld the axe and turn to who? the problem lies in that only a few players are world class, and that noone is leading on the pitch, laying down the law to the other players, jonno can do it from the dressing room but he isnt on the pitch (though he would be better than borthwick or kennedy) stupid errors, bad rugby, poor decisions, no killer edge. no leadership.

I guess that's a good point re. who to bring in. I would slowly try to embed the likes of Cipriani, Tait, Croft, Narraway into the team. I don't know English rugby like I do Welsh, but I wouldn't have Borthwick in the team, let alone as captain. I'd rather see Johnson play Dreadful discipline; Care should be dropped and Vickery should know better. No offense but your best player is a kiwi and he's class I do like the look of Armitage though

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by dbnetherleigh on Feb 28, 2009 22:05:04 GMT 1, I hate watching Ireland playing these days - despite being Irish and a big supporter - they just make the game way too uncomfortable to watch, nearly always taking it to the wire - they should have closed England out in the first half today, by kicking those penalties. The pressures really on now - I so hope they don't crack................

borthwick is shit. total shit. 1 vickery (stevens if he wasnt a coke head) 2 mears 3 sheridan 4 kennedy (not good enough) 5 croft (not good enough) 6 richy00 (or worsley) 7 haskell (moody if fit) 8 easter
9 ellis (care pushing hard) 10 cippers (wilko if fit) 11 sackey 12 flutey ( or tait/wilko) 13 tindall 14 tait 15 armitage (not good enough though)
imo need to put bannahan into the set up, play cippers more, no idea why we got rid of lewsey, he was and is class, i look at the elite player squad and noone but a handfull have any expirence, and even them arnt leaders on the pitch, just because they have 50+ caps doesnt make them leaders. and i also look at it and see a big bunch of wank.

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by headzup on Feb 28, 2009 22:31:33 GMT 1, wilko in a starting 15? he'll be injured tying his boot lace!!
were there any positives? no. jonno does all he can off the park. if the players don't realise the shite they are in (and i think they do), then god help us all.
discipline looses games. if ireland had 2 periods of 14 players on the field, i think the scores would have been reversed. 10 sin binners from 4 matches??

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by Harveyn on Feb 28, 2009 22:46:24 GMT 1, We always make it difficult. Just hope that we make it past Scotland as on todays showing that is no certainty. Never really nervous and always looked like we would prevail but against better opposition we would have been in trouble.
Will be great to make it to Cardiff with the Slam still on. Still thinks Wales will have us.
This tournament is the exact reason why Football needs the return of the Home Championship. If England don't want to play then invite the Republic of Ireland.

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by hlarmy on Mar 1, 2009 0:42:13 GMT 1, The last day of the championship is gearing up to be an awesome day of rugby; all we (Wales) need now is to wallop Italy and make sure the Irish don't put too many points on Scotland. All that's missing is a ticket to the game!!
Apologies for the non-art related posts!!

Come On Ireland !!!!!, by beasty on Mar 1, 2009 7:40:09 GMT 1, If we (Wales) keep our discipline, which has been good so far, maintain quick ball from the breakdown and get it out wide early then I'll think we'll beat Ireland. I'm looking forward to the midfield battle between Roberts and O'Driscoll and the fullback battle between Lee Byrne( must be close to being a dead cert for the Lions) and Rob Kearney.
I'm stating the obvious here but England have got to improve their discipline. Apart from the 2 yellow cards Flutey was lucky to stay on the pitch after his "tackle" on O'Driscoll( Reminds me of the way Butch James used go in without using his arms for SA). They're not playing like Pros at the moment.
Happy St David's Day BTW!!
