can glass be the new canvas? farkfk piece., by chrisps303 on Jan 29, 2009 20:28:55 GMT 1, Those pieces look great. I am not sure that the only thing stopping glass being the new canvas is its weight and vunerablilty. this is true, but i imagine if you drop a canvas it will still get damaged.. if you used toughened glass would it be any better?
Toughened glass is not any stronger than float ( non toughened glass) Toughened glass is just float glass heated till its almost molten then cooled, it just means when the glass breaks it will shatter into those tiny squares rather than into shards which are very sharp. The corners are the weak point on glass especially with toughened glass.
Also laminated glass is 2 pieces of glass with plastic sandwiched between, it is very difficult to break but it is still easy to crack the glass, it wont fall apart but the piece will have a crack in it.
Sorry to bore but i have to deal with glass suppliers every day at work.

can glass be the new canvas? farkfk piece., by charlie on Jan 30, 2009 14:41:17 GMT 1, I had been toying with having to let the Nico image go to a good home to help pay some bills..... seeing it out in the wild makes it a bit harder
.....but I would still be open to offers,
