Using leaves......, by Deleted on Dec 10, 2008 18:06:24 GMT 1, Hey Guys
I wanna try a few idea's i have out. I have some leaves that have been kept flat. I would like to use these on paper first then a wall once i have the image right. I would be using spray paint and a stencil, but then paste leaves over this. Would i just use a wheat paste or would that ruin the leaf. To be honest this will be one of my first goes so any info however small is always a great help.

Using leaves......, by funyoung on Dec 10, 2008 19:51:14 GMT 1, PVA Wood glue works well on most things. (Cheap and relatively non-hazardous too) Try applying a coat to the area first if unpainted brick to 'seal' the brick work first then paste onto that. Wood glue can be watered down (with water funnily enough) if needed to allow application with paint brush. Wheat paste is water and flour (+/- sugar) that you can make but results can be variable. Wood glue may 'preserve' the leaves better. It isn't designed for brick of course (being called 'wood glue' kind of gives that away) so if you want something harder wearing then look around. All my personal opinion of course.
