Framing skate decks...??, by barry cilit on Sept 23, 2008 13:05:54 GMT 1, What I mean is that I have decks dating back 20 years which have been hung by a piece of wire through the bolt holes. Unless you are prone to throwing acidic custard at your walls they should be fine without any casing.

i agree with you... and the same applies to people who frame signed books.
a little over the top. just my opinion.

Framing skate decks...??, by goffy on Sept 23, 2008 14:52:45 GMT 1, I have my Kinsey deck just lying against the wall at the side of my fireplace. To me it is like a wooden sculpture and as such it doesn't need framing. Each to their own though.

Framing skate decks...??, by spencerlee on Sept 23, 2008 15:02:21 GMT 1, Thanks everyone. Love the Neates, is that a Mr Framerman job? I was thinking that without a frame would look a bit naked and lost, but I suppose it depends on the area.
I haven't got a deck yet, but I have some narrowish space, and wanted something different, ie other than a print to fill it with. I like the 3d aspect of decks..as someone said, almost like a sculpture....

Framing skate decks...??, by covertshadowops on Sept 23, 2008 15:08:26 GMT 1, well it also depends on how many decks you have, me personally i have around 50 decks to hang.. so i certainly cant frame them all... thats just too costly.
but i like the job on the neate deck.... if you have only 1 deck, framing it will take up more space on your wall to show it off better.

Framing skate decks...??, by weaver on Sept 23, 2008 15:19:33 GMT 1, Well, you know where it is Mr Mishco
Mine was done locally total custom job, and sometimes it has to be done, the neates are handdrawn with permanent pen, not printed / screened, so they would be easily damaged / scuffed ( as a few already have been). Hanging normal decks is sound, but the neates needed protection. I have a lovely old choe deck that just sits happily on top of a rarely used radiator. and it looks peachy.
