Help: Has anyone dealt with Gallery iltrifoglioner, by iltrifoglionero on Aug 29, 2008 22:52:12 GMT 1, I don't usually comment on these kind of posts but in this case I thought that I'd make an exception as some of the comments are bordering on slanderous and I don't want anyone to think that we can't be contacted. I have emailed 'Gorgoz' today and hope that this matter has been settled. Whilst I don't feel that I have any obligation to discuss ours and for that matter his business on a public forum maybe some history might be useful. He contacted me months ago to buy a watercolour which I agreed to sell to him. Time went on and on and no payment ever arrived and he disappeared for weeks on end without my hearing anything. Despite all this I still held the piece for him (without any deposit) and arranged the sale a few weeks ago after a couple of hundred emails about delivery / tax etc. This was already the most drawn out sale I have ever had but I hoped that he would be pleased with the piece and he seemed a genuine and young collector. Eventually he paid and I spoke with him and explained that I was going on holiday and that the piece would be shipped as soon as I returned and as soon as my shippers returned from their holidays (Italy tends to close in August). I have now closed the sale and have returned his payment as I do not want any kind of misunderstanding and I just want the whole thing finished. As far as any other comments are concerned, if you were unsuccessful with getting a piece in March there was probably a reason for it. We are a primary gallery and our principal concern is where the works end up. We discuss with the artist (Josรฉ in this case) about potential buyers and as far as I am aware none of the pieces from this show have since turned up on the secondary market so I would suggest that our selection of buyers was not too bad. Thanks to everyone who posted supportive comments, Stu, Ricosg, Winter etc. Sorry for the long post.

Help: Has anyone dealt with Gallery iltrifoglioner, by gozgoz on Aug 29, 2008 23:17:19 GMT 1, one last thing.
all said and done, Richard has been extremely helpful and patient in discussing tax and delivery plans. he is right by all accounts above. And I am touched and thouroughly impressed by it all.
I am disappointed that it had to end up this way but if theres a lesson I have learnt and wish to impart is dont deal with european galleries in Aug! I guess that goes for most european businesses anyway.... wait til sept when europe wakes up again...

i really dont have time to read what you wrote. whoever you are. i'll just aswer with what i think.
i tend to keep the bad thoughts here at home, but about you guys i wanna tell people to be careful dealing with you.
this guy richard was buying an Ethos canvas from us. we stopped offering it to other people and after 100 emails and phone calls this richard just disappeared in the worst way. i dont care, we sold it anyway and the actual owner is totally happy with it. but this is something i would expect from a 18 years old college kid.
not from someone that has/work for a gallery.
anyway, i m sure that there is some good people involved in il trifoglio nero as well and i apologize with them for the bad publicity

Help: Has anyone dealt with Gallery iltrifoglioner, by Billy Sport on Aug 30, 2008 23:49:30 GMT 1, I cant comment on what did or didnt happen,as there are always two sides, but surely if a customer has paid, communication should be forthcoming on a delivery date? If you can accept the payment whilst on holiday, giving a date when delivery will/should be due cannot be too difficult?
I imagine the work was not cheap, and I would be worried if I had paid money and couldnt obtain a delivery date. Understandable that someone would be slightly nervous buying when spending a (probable) considerable sum.
It seems you've got a bit upset and cancelled the sale, which is a bit bad form in my book. You accepted the payment, you should have honoured the sale. I dont think that reflects well on you or your gallery.

Help: Has anyone dealt with Gallery iltrifoglioner, by beasty on Aug 31, 2008 9:00:45 GMT 1, I wasn't going to post on this thread( offered as a PM instead) but given some of the things that have been said I thought I'd chip in with my own experience with the gallery. Like many other people on this forum I thought I had arranged a piece from the show in March but lost out to a local collector. Not happy and was straight with Richard on this. He explained the situation but understood how I felt and promised that he would offer me one of the pieces he was expecting after the show.
To be fair he was true to his word and later offered me a choice of 2 canvas works, one of which we eventually bought and are very happy with. He was also very helpful on working out payment and delivery options.
I can understand his reasons for being selective about where the work goes to and I'm sure Jose has a big say in it but it still smarts when you've been passed over( so I can understand what you're experiencing Gozgoz). In our case frequent communication and patience on both sides went a long way in working out a solution.
Gozgoz - I hope you can resurrect the transaction. It'll be worth it.
