Not Mine.....But Too Good Not To Share!, by Mister Frame Man on Apr 30, 2008 11:31:45 GMT 1, This is a piece recently framed which really shows the benefits of using acrylic. Artwork sandwiched between two acrylic mounts and presented in the centre of a clear acrylic box allowing both sides of the work to be enjoyed!

Not Mine.....But Too Good Not To Share!, by Tyler Durden on Apr 30, 2008 11:46:43 GMT 1, Is it possible for 2 equally sized prints to be put in a similar frame so you can flip em over if you feel like looking at something different?

lol. you haven't seen my house ...
I was only jesting but the piece above would look very good indeed in a modern house. Do many people go for the acrylic boxes in more traditional settings? It came up on one of the threads where everyone was getting into the aesthetics of the framing but not taking the 'background' into account. Just seems to me that it plays a big role too. What do you think? Frame for the picture alone or take into account wall etc?

Would that be the East or the West?
The colour.....I'm quite liking it too, no idea how it came about!

Not Mine.....But Too Good Not To Share!, by dumpsuk on Apr 30, 2008 15:26:32 GMT 1, Hi Gary, nice work. Why is this box so deep? Could it be half as deep and look a little less like a plastic box?
Can you do the same thing with more traditional materials? Please let me know. Ta.

I was about to mention the same point. There is much too much space/depth between then art and the face/glazing. Just my amateur opinion, but I think it would look nicer with less depth.

I think it looks deceptively deep because the piece is so small - only 7'' by 5"

I made the box that depth to give it stability as the owner wanted to place it on a shelf! Could be made more shallow, could also be made using all clear acrylic as opposed to white sides!
