PEOPLE WHO FLIP, by bullet on Dec 13, 2007 1:29:41 GMT 1, Depends on if you hand them in a day late or not and the nice old lady gives you a 20p fine. They can then do that again with the same book again. Another 20p. Scandal.

PEOPLE WHO FLIP, by Deleted on Dec 13, 2007 1:33:39 GMT 1, Jon, I think I get your point that there are lots of people who flip, but just out of curiosity what exactly are you trying to communicate? That it's acceptable?
+1 for the effort.

I think a decent wage might be a more reliable way to clear that debt than flipping art. Try it, you might like it! Tip: Employers who pay well normally like capitalization and punctuation.

Yeah, one thing I agree with you on is that there is a lot of energy in commenting about flippers in this forum. I think easily 25 - 30% of all posts are comments accusing someone of flipping, hating flippers, and denying flipping. sure would save a lot of time reading threads if we just agreed to not talk about it. no point really.

PEOPLE WHO FLIP, by bullet on Dec 13, 2007 1:48:08 GMT 1, mate, when you come out its no easier.
My repayments are now £100 a month and that only just covers the interest (about £45 from that pays the actual loan).
The worst thing is the government does not release the money to the SLC for a year, so basically they sit on your wedge for 12 months getting interest and then pay the SLC with the interest. Fuck faces.

Can i just re-affirm you understand this. Only work in your last 3 months, get pissed the rest of the time. Its the best time of your life. After that its all work (but you get weekends and paid holiday)

PEOPLE WHO FLIP, by Yessir on Dec 13, 2007 1:51:30 GMT 1, Jboy I think I can see the angle your trying to come from, a few people who moan about the actions of others in this forum, when the time suits them and they have to "do certain things" its deemed as ok for them and their little circle and everyone else should just mind their own business.
A prominent forum member offered me ridiculous deal on a print, which is his right to do (nearly 500% mark-up and not a rear print), but then goes around passing judgment and sticking his nose in other peoples business, when in private he operates in the same manner.

PEOPLE WHO FLIP, by leehambly on Dec 13, 2007 2:03:36 GMT 1, So, can I assume neither JBOY or Somerset did or are doing a maths or economics degree?
Providing a service isnt flipping, its providing a service. Growing produce on a farm isnt flipping, it is growing produce on a farm. Buying a limited release item which is sold, altruistically, at a reduced value to satisfy a targetted market in order to simply turn a profit is the act of a pariah or parasite, essentially feeding purely from the altruism of the original vendor.
Whatever way you might want to paint it, flipping just isnt within the spirit of the nature of many of the art companies involved. I am not greatly aware of the art you are into, but if it is anything like the artists I am aware on this site, then I sense you don't really get alot of it somehow. That said, with some recent releases and the sometimes seemingly prevalent attitude from some of the fans, I am wondering if I am on the same page, too.
